    Tell me about the 226

Ok, its not for me. I have a neighbor who is looking for a 226 because his wife likes the layout. They spent a lot of time in my 211 and want something with more seating, but arent willing to step up to a 230. They also set a budget at 40k, so that limits them quite a bit. I have never been in or even seen a 226 outside of photos, but it appears to be a bigger 211. Not a lot of them out there, so I assume it wasnt very popular. Any feedback is great. Thanks

Well, I guess the lack of responses tells the story.

It's a good boat. No, it wasn't super popular. Not the best looking boat aesthetically in my opinion. But it's a Nautique so rest assured the boat is fine.

If they like he 211 the 226 is fairly similar. It doesn't have the hydrogate. Wakes should be a tad larger than 211. If you can find a used one in good shape for a decent deal I wouldn't hesitate.

Gotta remember....there was a "first gen 226" and a "second gen 226" The second looked WAY better than the first. I had both....an 05 and a 2010. Both GREAT boats for what I used them for. I did trade to a G21 in 2015 because I wanted to surf without adding ANYTHING as much as a wet towel to the boat and it has worked out great. Remember...there really has not been a "bad" Nautique made since 1925 in my opinion. Best thing is for your friend to get out there...try it....and see where it goes from there. I liked the walk-through and everything about my 226's. Click image for larger version

We had a 2003.. I believe that was the first year and a change for 09 or so????

As previously stated it is a Nautique so a great boat. Can be surfed fairly well with extra weight. We would lay a bag in walk through or under side locker.. what I remember most was how much better it rode than our 220.
