    Thoughts???

i started thinking about a little restoration project. I've done one or two before. Last was Chris Craft XK 19 that I put a big block and bravo out drive on. Still have it and it's sitting in barn. The good thing about the XK is that I can dang near get my money back out of it. Seems those little boats have somewhat of a following g and people will buy them if I ever decided to turn lose of it. I found this little girl and was wondering yalls thoughts... good boats? Any major issues I should check for beside the obvious locked engine trans and rot??

I love old boats from the 60s-70s, especially inboards. They remind me of my childhood and my grandparents lake house. I think it would be a cool project, but I don't know if you could get your money out of it like your Chris Craft. Maybe you could, but I just don't think the vintage boat market is as strong for a Martinique as it is for your Chris Craft.

I would like to see pics of your Chris Craft XK. I think those boats along with old Centurys are the epitome of cool. Is your XK an inboard or a stern drive? It seems like I remember some of those XKs were inboard V-drives, but I could be confusing it with a different Chris Craft model.

It was the LT vette 350 and Volvo 270 outdrive w no trim. I did a 454 and bravo 1 outdrive. That little thing will make some fast boat guys mad! Lol! At the time we knew a guy that had a Baja that would run almost 80 on GPS and it would hang with him.

It is a shame someone would let a nice boat like that go to rot. It appears salvageable, it would be a lot of work, but some things are a labor of love.
