    Thoughts on slalom boats

So I'm slowly getting into the skiing thing and my vdrive is a little bumpy.
What are some opinions on these

Honestly, if you're looking at that era of a boat (late 80's), you should really consider a MasterCraft. The ride will be harsher, but the wake is much, much better. Plus no need to worry about wood stringers. MC went to all glass in the early 80's, where CC waited until '93 in the SN. Depending how far you want to stretch your budget, you could get a '91-'94 Prostar (awesome wake and EFI engine std in '94). Or for a touch more, a '97-2000 SN (bubble back = one the best slalom boats to date).

          • 2002 Ski Nautique

We have had two of the 2001 Hulled Ski Nautiques and I tend to ski stiff legged. We now have a 2002 Ski Nautique and the ride is smoother and the wake is nice. It may not be as good as the new hulls but for the money it could not be beat. I would recommend any Ski Nautique after 91 if you want glass stringers go for 93 and up. They all get a little better every year. I personally did not like the tracking of the mid 80 Master Craft, may be fine wake just not a good drive. Good luck in finding a Ski Boat.

That's not an '85 MC...the seller is either trying to pull a fast one or is unaware of how old the boat really is. It could a late 70's model to 1981 with that dash.

The Tige is actually a fantastic slalom boat. One of the flatest wakes of the era, but I'm not sure of the build quality? If it's close to you, it's worth a look.

I was thinking the same thing about that mastercraft. Personally I love tige, I've put over 300 hours on one in just a few years. I just didn't think they skied too great.

As of right now, I'm really not ready to buy a ski boat. I was just wanting to see what's out there, so I know what to look for.
