    2017 g23 550 help

Need help boat keeps telling me exhaust temp overheat. Boat is running fine though with engine temp at 170 to 175 and strainer is clear. Happening at both surf speeds and wakeboard speeds so basically boat is a glorified pontoon. Been to the dealer twice and they are trying to tell me it's a sand problem. Big problem is we are deep water only boat. Anything helps thanks.

Check the water strainer . Not real familiar with your boat . Don't even know if it has one but mine had cracks right in top . Also pcm has a reflash on some engines that changes the threshold for the manifold temps . Not sure it applies to you but my 15 model 210 had similar issue and has been resolved

For quick reference I have checked all filters and coolant. The error code that keeps coming up is st 1415 exhaust manifold temperature emwt 1. Higher than expected stage 1 and stage 2. Spn number is 441 and 442 source says fuel sender

I hate to say but sounds like it needs to go to dealer

          my guess,

O2 Sensor needs replacing, takes about 2 min, super easy fix.

Check impellor is good and the entrance screen to the tranny cooler.

            98% rules out a blockage.

Where is the entrance screen to tranny cooler?

is there a good why to get at the impeller?

Have your dealer check your senors. I was getting a similar error message on my 16 G23 and the dealer just re-positioned the sensor. He snipped a couple of ties and re-routed a bit to move the senor away from the heat source. Once this was done I never got the error message again. Took all of 5 minutes at the dealer. Good luck.

The sensor is screwed into the manifold . Can you post a pic of what he did ?
