Incentive? They sending you a few towels to keep the pics under wraps?

I am still dumbfounded at the fact that they mothballed the SS hull. That said, I could not be happier. If you don't currently have one.....you buy used.......and I'm not selling!!!!

While I was driving to lunch today I LOL'd to myself at the idea of a $40k "budget" wakeboard boat.

That is a crazy thought Hollywood. When I bought my boat, a little over 40K was a SAN. Now a little over 40K gets you a "price point" ride. AMAZING.

What is more amazing, there are inboards(not even including the X-80) that are pushing close to what I financed on my first home. CRAZY....CRAZY......CRAZY.

Bocephus the photos of the 236 were released early. Someone is going to get it 'out there' if they are sending it to others like yourself. You may just have a greater sense of propriety than many would. In other words, someone is going to slip.

CC does have smaller less expensive boats that can be used for entry level. A signature series 196 is a smaller boat that would cost around $40,000 or less.

Your analogy of the luxury car brands selling the same larger cars with less features and smaller does not work. A 7 series is not a 5 series is not a 3 series. Just the same as a 196 is not a 216 is not a 210 is not a 220 is not a 226 is not a 236.

I also think it is funny that we are talking about price point boats for $40K when I bought my boat new for $47 which was just about fully loaded in '02. It was also my first power poat I have ever personally owned, I did have a small sail boat I bought used.

                AG,
Not trying to start something here, I think you and I are saying the same thing, however, I am stating that the luxury car brands are utilizing their brand and extending it downwards in their lines. You're right that a 3 isn't a 5 isn't a 7, but have you seen how CLOSE the new 3 is in size to the new 5, etc...
We're into a similar situation with the old 210 and the new "210" in that CC is going to introduce a larger boat with additional features and benefits.

Also, if you can only order an old 210 with a 330hp and in any color you want as long as it's red, black or blue with white interior, we're not into the same "luxury" as getting to choose from 10+ colors and stripe combos along with your choice of interior combos, right?

I think it's cool that CC has such a strong and loyal customer base, I'm sold and really like their brand, and one of my friends who may be the pickiest guy I know, has had three of these, and is a staunch supporter.

I think CC should have the "X1/210" entry level boat to continue building their strong customer base...

And the one thing that seems to be missed, is the length of the new 210 is the same, it is 4" wider... We aren't talking about it going away for a 23' boat. But, I believe that CC needed the 236 in order to compete in that market. The 220 is still a smaller boat than the X-Star, but I never hear people complaining that it is a soft core wakeboard boat because of it's size.

Price point boats are a bad idea for a high end brand. They do nothing other than dilute the image of the manufacturer. If you want a new 35k wake boat, shop a different line. Having a low cost 210 does nothing other than hurts the value of those of us that bought the real one.

Deuce, pleasure gambling with you sir.

With all this talk about BMW and Mercedes. It got me thinking.... How come when one of these brands releases a new model - nobody demands the old model is kept as a price point car. For example when the current 5 series was first introduced there was a lot of talk about the controversial Bangle styling but the fact was the newer car (despite its ugliness in some peoples eyes) was superior and has proved to be a popular seller. Lets have a little faith in CC here and trust that they know what they're doing. Now I really gotta stop reading this until I can see some pics.

if they did it be the best boat the ever sold!

So you think that the X1 dilutes the image of the X-star, and the v-ride dilutes the image of the VLX?

especially if it is not being marketed and touted as the core (fill in you segment here) vehicle... think of how much value would be lost for every person whom bought a 210 this year for $55k+ if Correct Craft brought the 210 back as a price point boat devoid of all of the options we didnt want in the first place and charged $45k for it. i have a friend whom has an 2004 Malibu Wakesetter VLX whom would like to upgrade his boat this year. unfortunately when the new generation VLX came out in 2005 it tanked the value of his boat which is the equivalent of the price point V ride. looks like he got hosed...

Keep the SAN gone I say.... It is great news for current SAN owners & truthfully, I don't much care about the loss for future SAN owners.

Maybe Erik can tell me what the average Nautique 2001 sold for back in the day....and what clean 2001's are selling for now.
