2016 san 210, crack in fiberglass at base of drivers seat

Before i flip my lid, on the dealer, how bad is this? Not just surface, you can feel it and flick it with your fingernail. 12 easy hours on the boat, bought new this spring.

Shouldn't be bad. They will fix it.

That's just a crack in the gelcoat, not the fiberglass.

It should be an easy fix.

I'd also highly recommend a calm approach to the dealer. Being polite and reasonable, but firm, and clear with your expectations will surely be the quickest path to a satisfactory resolution.

In any case, it sucks to have a crack in the gel coat on your new boat, but as Jeff said, it's just the gel and should be easily fixed - presumably under warranty, too, yes?

I have the same deal on our G. Like Jeff says its just the gel. I probably wont have it repaired.

It's not uncommon for a new boat to have a crack (or two or three) especially at curves and angles. They're super easy to fix and Nautique (in my experience) has no problem taking care of them during the warranty period.

Don't feel too bad. My boat was delivered with two gel cracks. 0 hours.

What do you think is causing the cracks? If flexing is causing the cracks, wouldn't the cracks just reappear a short time after repairing the gel coat. To keep it from coming back wouldn't the structure under it need to be reinforced for it to be a quality repair.

It is amazing to me that this is a common and excepted issue with boats in this price range.
But here we are.

It's common with many brands. That doesn't make it any better though.

yeah, I would suggest not getting it fixed....juice not worth the squeeze...

Work with fiberglass everyday , it flexes a lot but gel does not so if it does flex enough then the gel cracks giving the appearance of cracked fiberglass . It's almost impossible to not experience a few hair line cracks around round curves especially inside
