I am 100% a CC guy and have had zero problems with boats, service or anything else. The Meloons are a top notch family and have built a solid company and boat since day 1.
You are smoking somthing if you think there is a better option out there. You could not find a higher quality boat. Top notch R&D and the highest quality materials will make a boat more expensive.
Remember who is the top contributer to our beloved sport. They are the reason we get to have fun every day (except winter).
    Life long Nautique guy
    Will ski anytime.

Are they listening, or trying to appear like they are?

This is an interesting thread on two levels. One, is CC really listening or is this "survey" as pointed out just a marketing ploy to get folks to say what they think is great?

It's difficult to re-design and engineer a classic. I think any 210 owner will agree (I am one) but it's going to be hard to beat something so solid that performs so well. It's like a Porche 911. The basic design is 30 years old and it's not really been changed, and nothing really beats it for classic sportster handling and design.

How long will the "need an SUV boat" trend continue. Does CC need to chase trends? What is the new classic design?

The 210 SAN is almost unbeatable. If the buying public really needs to seat 12 people with luggage for an overnight, maybe they need a re-design. But, they should first let the Shaun Murrays of the world tweak the hull design and tell them "bling" is so 5 minutes ago. Take the advice of those riding. Buyers buy what the pro circuit rides.

Another thing...CC has one thing no one else has, that is their superb dealer network that is dedicated to their customers. The dealers did a good job with the input on the 220 but it missed a bit because not enough riders where used for input on design and performance.

RE: Are they listening, or trying to appear like they are?

mgaspence, good points, but I disagree with consumers buying what the pros buy. For one, I have seen zero new 210's in the past 3 years or so in my area. If my dealer has sold a new 210, I have not seen it anywhere. On the other hand, I've already seen some pretty nice 220's on docks next to I/O's w/ For Sale signs on them. The amount of 211's and 206's in my area is unbelievable. And yet, rarely do I see a hardcore 210 or 196 drive by.

I remember a couple years back we were talking w/ Jeff W. down in Orlando, must have been at least 6 years ago. We said you guys should make it so you can access the rear storage from the platform. His responce was 'nah, the pros dont like it b/c they take their skis out in the boat and then walk over so everybody sees them standing w/ their skis.' Well, look what's happened to EVERY boat on the market now, you can acess the storage from the platform and inside. Also a FYI, the pros take out the rear seat cusion. I'm still yet to see an owner to do that.

This being said, at one point I thought the Gods down there in Orlando took way too much info from their pros. Now, I think they've changed a little bit. Maybe this survey is a sign of them listening more, maybe its not. But I seriously doubt that there is one person down there in an office reading every comment every day. Like I said, that survey has been up there for MONTHS, and I've heard nothing of it.

It is unreasonable and irrational for one person to be reading the comments of every survey. ****, we could have people like therev1 taking it 10 times a day, and soon we'd find a new forked bow Nautique with mastercraft stickers and a zeroflex tower. This is just my opinion here, but I find it a little interesting that the days we call the days when CC's boats and QC used to be really the best were the days CC was the least interactive with the community... :???:

          Austin,

4 new 210s within my sight from my dock in the last two years. Your lake is one data point, but only one of many. BKH

Thats what I am saying, sorry if I didn't make it so clear. What people decide to buy is very regional. I am in more of a family boat area. I see way too many Cobalts and Four Winns on my lake. Where I bet some of you west coasters see 5 other 210s every day you're out. Just like I shouldn't assume everyone wants a 211 and 220, I don't think CC, or anyone for that matter, should assume people buy what the pros by, that is the 210s and 196. CC cannot leave any customer base in the dust. And more than often is the NorthEast, IMHO, last on the list of priorities for a large number of water sports related industries...

I have a 99 Sport Nautique w/ Tower/ballast. This is my third boat and the quality and performace is excellent. Also have had nothing but positive experiences for service at the dealers - White Lake and Gaston. My concern is the entry boats in the CC line have gotten too expensive. Of the 10 owners I know, 7 have direct drives, mostly pre-2002 sport/air models with towers. This was an excellent crossover boat. My boat was originally bought in April 2000 at a price of $33k (w/o tower). I have kids that compete in slalom (learning) and we wakeboard - what new boat in the CC line do I replace this with ? An SV-211 at $55K+, NO WAY. The 206 with 200lbs ballast - this is a pure slalom boat. CC does not even picture direct drive with a tower in the 06 catalog. Now look at the malibu line and their focus on cross over boats. CC will lose most of us

Correct Craft can get more info by reading this website regularly than any amount of surveys they could print and send out. Wouldnt that be more cost effective for them?

Take a step back and think about it for a minute. What % of the CC owner population are we here? It's definitely a single digit. I'm not trying to be a downer, just a realist.

I'm sure that is correct, BUT we are probably one of the best groups for CC to get data from. We're likely to be one of the most critical groups of CC owners, which may seem harsh to CC, but sometimes that is necessary to bring about improvement.
