After nearly a dozen years with my beloved '95 Hydrodyne Grand Sport Elite I've decided that it's time to go with a V-Drive. I'm interested in a Nautique as these days I'm basically just into surfing and being goofy the Nautiques prop direction favors my side. I've learned however that the '06 210 now turns the same direction as the Bu and MC. So I'm looking for something used. At one time I found some nice comparisons for the different years on the forum here but for the life of me can't remember the search to have them resurface. As I recall the '01 is a nice year but has the wide gunwales and shallow floor depth. I remember that '02 had narrow gunwales and 4" more depth giving a bigger interior and in '03 had the new excalibur engine. Don't know what changed for '04 or '05. Is the Excalibur really that much better than the GT-40? Anyway I'd appreciate some guidance on the old boats. I know that bigger boats e.g, 220 have kept the prop direction the same but I really am only interested in the 210. Thanks in advance.

RE: SAN 210 Choice?
2000 and 2001 SAN's are with the swoop N logo on the side. They have got the keyless start, 2001 has got the 3 doors hatch on the sundeck and not fully arena seating (not behind the driver anymore). The 2002's are indeed with the new topdeck. It has the straight rear transom, which is great for lady's with short legs. It has a bit more interior room. In 2002 also the belly ballast came availeble on the TEam Editions, the 2002's came with the GT40 and Excalibur. Both great engine's, some say the GT40 has some more low end torque. But I really cannot feel any difference between does 2 engine's. Although the Excalibur is a bit quiter. 2003 is the 210 with the new and improved dashboards. And only with the Excalibur engine (and the introduction of the ZR6, and with the old Python). Some say the 2003 are the best 210 availeble. 2004 is with the new tower, with the swoop lower part. The tower wasn't as sturdy as the pre 2004 models. 2005 returned to the pre 2004 towers. 2006 new tower, new ballast pump system and new transmission.
I'm sure i forgot some points, but these are the first I came up with.230 with ZR6 running on propane

It is generally accepted that 2003 was a particularly good year for the SAN. As was stated above, you get the new digital/analog gauges, deeper floor, cool push-button hatch releases (one year only), Excalibur/ZR-6/Python engine options, classic FCT, and it was the last year for the classic AIR logo. On mine, I moved the sub to the driver's footwell, and that really opens up the storage under the observer's seat. Replace the Flow-Rite valves with T-H Marine valves (under warranty) and you've got the perfect boat.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

Also the 2002 has manual valves under the floor and in the engine compartment for the ballast. The 2003 has them right by the driver. The 2004 they moved the stereo to the glove compartment and put auto valves in. 2003 or 2005 is the best year.

Florida(if in salt, that would scare me) - http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/3/2/84257832.htm 33.9
Crowmobe540 just sold his for mid 30's......
I thought whoever bought Alan-S' '03 got a STEAL....and that was for the listed price....I don't know what he actually let it go for.

Note, the Indiana boat comes with a '05 tower....of which I am not a fan.
If that Florida boat has not been in the salt.....it is a GREAT find.
Of course there are more out there, that was just a quick search. I wouldn't sell mine for 45.... IMO, it is the best SAN(year) made and I couldn't replace it. I'd end up spending 10+ K more than I sold it for, to get a new boat that I don't like as much.

This boat is 10K more than the others, but I LOVE IT.... I am not sure about the hump due to the Python(never actually been in a boat with it)....but LOVE the look of this boat and at 99 hours, it is new.....

Also looks like it has the frest air exhaust, which would be a be a huge benefit for your surfing.
Can you tell I am bored at work today...........

I agree Crowmobe540 that it is priced high compared to some of the deals you see out there. However, in my recent search today, it seems that '03's are hovering around the 42+ range. With the python & fresh air exhaust, that price doesn't seem bad.
Again, I wouldn't(maybe couldn't) sell mine for 45 K cash today. In '03 CC had the stars align on the SAN.....tough boat to replace......Yellow_Flash_Colorz:
