Thinking of purchasing a 2018 GS24. I am a barefooter and am concerned about top end speed. Currently have a Ski Nautique 196 CB Does anyone know the top end speed of this boat with the 550 hp motor? Also is there any porpoising of the boat over rough water?

If you get the 550, then you will not have any problem doing barefooting speeds based on the things we have learned about the motor with G23 owners. You may have to change the stock prop, but you likely would not lose much on the low end holeshot because the motor is so powerful anyway.
Assuming you can put the trim tab down at speed, porpoising should not be a problem.

My buddy who owns a Malibu older model was blown away at all the fit and finish, and Tech. The sound system sounded WAY better thank our Tige Z3 WetSounds - this JL System is simply crisp, clean and loud. All the tech in this thing is astonishing and simple and easy to use - especially if you've driven any of the late model Mercedes or BMW's - very similar. And the screen is touch. Another huge compliment was all the sea deck on all the walking surfaces, you don't think its' a big deal, but it is when the kids are running all over the boat jumping off every edge they can find. And the room....wow, so much room, we didn't feel crowded at all and can't wait to max this thing out with 17 people which will happen soon.
So, I'm taking it easy on the boat speed but it has some serious pick up - we have the 400 hp engine. But dang does it take the waves head on like butter - another HUGE compliment from my buddy and a big difference between the Tige Z3 is that it rides WAY WAY Better - like on a different level. Also, it's so flat and stable in all conditions.
Overall impressions are very high - can't wait to get behind the boat to surf - but right now I am so very pleased on the purchase. My buddy is thinking about the G23 and I told him to drive my boat first before he decides. We looked at the G but the GS for our family and what we do with the boat, and the room (interior floor space/seating), bow, rear seating in the back, just felt like a better and bigger place to be for us. We aren't hardcore surfers, but I think this boat will be more than enough for us and our lifestyle. One thing as well, I really felt like the GS has all the newest "Tech" and the "Future Design Language" for Nautique - it will trickle down to all other models and is why I felt like the G23 was just a step behind slightly...until they do a full revamp on the G - the GS is and will be the newest kid on the block.

We haven't surfed behind it, but we did initiate the pre-selected surf program and test it out switching the wave back and fourth - holy cow is it easy, and the wave was amazing. We had 8 people in the boat 4 adults and 4 small kids.
