Who removes all their warning stickers

I'll be taking delivery of my 230 very soon. I think one of the first things I'm gonna do is take off all of the warning stickers.

What did you use to get them off? Did you leave any?

I removed every single one that I can think of on my 230. I mean everything. Tower, deck, hull... It's all gone. No need for that garbage. The hardest one was the coast guard stuff near and below the throttle above the driver's drink holder. I added an eq in the place of one of the CG placards and had it reupholstered. Pretty cheap to do.

Oh, forgot to answer your questions. Fingernails, sunlight (for uniform heat) and patience help. Some are worse than others. Most are easy. Goo Gone and patience are your best friends. Do it in phases so you don't get frustrated, burned out or separate your nails from your fingers. Haha

I took every one off I could get off. I haven't yet tackled the coast guard plackard above the drink holders on the driver's side. It's the only one left...

Mark and I did it the exact same way. I removed almost everything. Doing it in phases is a good idea, which I did; it is better to do it in "chunks". I have three left that I'm afraid to remove. One is at the base of the windshield on the port side (where your primary passenger sits). I'm worried I'll take the windshield frame paint with it if I remove it. (Markj, did you remive that one?). While I did remove the big one below the throttle on the fiberglass-(it takes some time to remove the adhesive)-I didn't remove the two on the pads above it, it looks like there is some kind of plastic "platform" on the pads for those two. I thought it would look goofy if I removed them and this were the case. Goo gone is best to use for the adhesive; it is gentle, and won't damage things.

i was so adamant about removing them that I started 15 minutes after the salesman left my house. (He brought the boat to my lake for delivery). I pretty much removed most of the stickers before I even started enjoying the boat... I AM CRAZY ANAL-RETENTIVE...

Keep in mind from a liability standpoint you should put them back on when you sell the boat. 10 years later a attorney will come calling if someone gets hurt on the boat.

Do you mean the NSS label? If so, no. That was the one sacred cow.

Here's a pic of what I did on the driver's side. The billboard below the throttle got covered in the same carbon fiber wrap as what I put on the sides of the boat. Click image for larger version

My neighbor is a trial attorney with a G23; he said something to the same effect. I am unburdened by this silliness.

No, that is on the starboard glass itself. That is still on.

I see what you did with the EQ. That sticker and one near it are still on mine, but the big nasty one above the cupholder is long gone...

unless you live on a private lake, federal law requires you keep the coastguard sticker, discharge of oil sticker. and garbage sticker. BIG fines for the DNR.(as much as $300 each sticker. Most states with budget cuts means they need to get creative on revenue. As for the others it is your boat. Just a reminder that some are required by law reguardless how ugly.

This is actually one of the easier ones to get off. Just pull it SLOWLY. The goal is to have the adhesive stick to the back of the label instead of the windshield frame. I did have to use a little solvent to get the sticky stuff off. WD-40 is an excellent solvent for this. It isn't as harsh as Goof Off.
