Who removes all their warning stickers

Ok, Charles-

This weekend, I'm going after this one-my last one. I think I'll warm it up a good bit with a hair dryer. I sure hope no windshield paint comes with it; I'd be crushed... That said, this one does drive me crazy. All I'll have left are the capacity one, and one other by the driver seat... I'll leave them alone. My boat sure does look clean without all of these stickers...

I can't figure out which sticker you're talking about. Is it only on G's?

No urban myth the number of safety/warning decals increases every decade, Correct Craft clearly is doing that for a reason, trying to deflect liability. At the rate things are going when my grandkids buy their first new Nautique it will essentially be wrapped in warning stickers, lol

I personally do not remove any stickers, especially the coast guard capacity plate.

I would check your state laws. I removed every sticker but the coast guard rating and the carbon monoxide sticker. Washington state law requires that sticker in your boat.

Anyone can sue anyone else for any reason. I am not going to spend any time worrying about that. The industry puts the warnings on because they must for their liability. Do you think that 1970 mustang that had no warning on teak surfing actually presents you liability if you sell it to someone new?

All that said I dont find the stickers that bothersome. I have considered peeling them for about 5 minutes and thought it doesnt wreck my enjoyment of the boat...why bother.

There are many cases that simply don't make it to the public eye, and I suspect that all of those stickers are there because of some of those cases.

Nautique felt that they had to put a sticker on the boat telling me not to get caught in the propeller so that they won't be sued successfully. It doesn't seem like much of a stretch to think that a private individual could also be at risk if the sticker were removed.

I am more worried about being struck by lightning or attacked by a shark in the ocean, but I would not deny the possibility of this sort of lawsuit happening.

Don't know and don't care if there is a documented case as you noted above, my money would be on there probably is. More importantly, if you consulted an attorney as to whether you should remove them or leave them on, I would bet a vast majority would advise leaving them on.

LOL! It's a measly mill...hardly worth pursuing

Come to think of it, the SN we sold last Dec had all stickers in place, but most were sun-faded, so the copy couldn't be read. Either the sun or I am in trouble!
