Which name do you think CC should use to promote their boats: Correct Craft or Nautique?

Maybe do the Chevrolet/GMC thing. Make a Nautique 196 and Correct Craft Classic 196 or something of that nature.Comment

I think that the Correct Craft name should be emphasized more than it currently is, but I don't think Nautique should be dropped totally.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. I agree. The Correct Craft name has been lost lately. Now the Nautique brand has been built up and it can not be abandoned either though... But Correct Craft just needs to be brought back to the forefront.Comment

The answer to this question, I think, depends on the direction that CC chooses to take and the options that it would like to leave open in the future. In reality, I think it is very similar to the MC lines of boats: ProStar vs. MariStar vs. X Star (now X Series). Remember, if you will, there was a time when CC offered ski boats (Ski Nautique), barefoot boats (Barefoot Nautique) family boats (Martinique), Fishing Boats (Fish Nautique) and Bass Boats (Bass Nautique). I guess if you were to drop the CC name you could still flex in any direction by adding a prefix to Nautique, but then how would we use abbreviations like CC? At any rate, I think there is something to be said for continuity and holding on the namesake which made these boats what they are today...Comment

I think Correct Craft holds a reputation of quality and the Nautique is more of their new era (beginning in the 70s) of a new series of boats that are tournament aimed.
Basically, Correct Craft is the history that Nautique is built on, don't forget about it.

I wish they'd put "Correct Craft" back on the transoms atleast. Most people refer to these boats as "Nautiques", which is OK but I truly respect those in the know throwing "Correct Craft" out there.Comment

To me, all the boats are Correct Crafts first and foremost. However, when laymen ask me what kind of boat I have, I am compelled to say Ski Nautique and they instantly know what I have. If I say Correct Craft, they just sort of give me a blank stare until I say Ski Nautique.Comment

I think the reputation that CC conjours up today is actually based on the New Era (1980's+) and is highlighted by the Nautique brand. I could be wrong but the wooded boats were reletively cheap and cheaply made. Maybe someone from CCFan would know more.
Didn't CC put the CC back on the transom in 2006? I was glad they did.Comment
