With only 520 hours and if it's in great shape, I'd say anything near $40k is a great price. Heck, my 2005 210 sold for $40k last year through the dealer I traded it into and it had 560 hours. It was a cream puff though with a full Wetsounds system. Unless this boat is beat, that's a deal you shouldn't pass up.

I was surprised he came off $5000 but he is ready to get into a Cobalt for he and his wife since the kids are no longer at home and wants to buy one at the end of the season. A 236 would be a great boat for my 4 young kids. My wife was not raised around the lake so this is all new to her so I can understand her being unsure......but at this price I bet I could sell in a couple of years for what I paid for it or come close. But, when you buy a boat you are buying memories made with friends and family.

Buy it. Great deal! You will love the boat with your kids and your wife will be angry on you why you didn't bought it before. I 100% like the PP more than the ZO, but I'm one of the only ones apparently.

Dude, you keep talking about your wife....I would get some scene control and buy that boat.

I am just kidding on that...Like your wife I am CPA so I get and agree that planning for the future should definitely be a priority. However I would argue there is more than one way to plan for the future. Encouraging and creating quality time with your kids is as important an investment as a purely financial investment. My kids are older than yours. I have one in high school and an 8th grader so trust me on this next statement. The time you have to make an impact and influence the person they will become is preciously short. Very short...As they get older and involved in other activities they will be around you and your wife less and less. People often justify buying a boat (or other things) by saying its about "making memories". To me, that just scratches the surface. It can be way more than that. It can be about forcing or creating that time for you and your wife to be with them and be a positive influence. If you make all your decisions with a heavy bent toward pure dollars financial payoff, you potentially can miss out on opportunities to create meaningful time with them that has just as great of a payoff.

Now, off my soapbox...go buy that boat. If you're nervous about the condition call Matt over at Ski N Sport and see if he will inspect it for you. If you make a deal, be sure and have someone show you the areas on Lake Palestine that are safe (if you are not familiar with it already). Lot of stumps out there.

I would buy it quick before he changes his mind. I doubt you will get a much better deal than that anywhere.
