Ask the administrator, he always goes to roswell to build his PlanetNautique boat stereo as far as I know.

I know folks love their studio elite, but have they come from the stock stereo?
I upgraded the amp to the one subwoofer and that was the best $400 I have ever spent.
ironpeddler, $3500 can get you quite a bit of stereo, and IMHO it would be better than the upgrade from the factory.

The different menus probably isn't what your assuming. There is an audio button by the throttle which puts you into the audio settings and you simply turn the dial, also by the throttle, up from there(you may also have to compress the dial once). I'm sure your local dealer will let you test it out if you ask them about it. IMO it's pretty quick and simple. Only problem will be when someone is driving and doesn't know what their doing. Aftermarket will be way cheaper, but it wont look as nice. I've had minor issues with third party installs as well on a previous boat. The second sub on the studio elite is installed beyond the kick panel of the cockpit. I'm not sure how hard it would be to have an aftermarket sub installed there, but it would for sure be easier/cheaper to have it installed somewhere with easier access, or so I would think. I agree a volume knob may be nice, BUT... with zone control and speed sensitive volume control. I've NEVER had to adjust it after I've set it up how I want. That said, I don't own a nautique yet,... I've just driven on occasions and these are my impressions with limited use.

If you were going to keep your boat a while, then get it. Mainly because it is covered under the factory 5 warranty. But in my experience, most people buying used aren't really expecting much of a warranty with purchase and with these boats, most buyers would probably be looking at going to Wetsounds IF they actually care about sound in the first place! I got the Studio Elite package (only mine has 2-10's since it's a 16), and I love it. It's just enough for me!

Opinions are well you know.... We have a 15 and I pulled all the Polk garb out and put all JL in except the sub and head unit. My understanding is the factory tuning is no good and you may. Wes to address it. As far as the JL stuff goes I love ours. I've had Wetsounds systems and didn't care for how high pitch they were. To me and the wife JL is warmer and cleaner sounding and as loud at close range as WS. As far as 3500 goes..... not far!!! I have almost that in sub and amp for sub but I'm not sure what the addp3500 gets you.. if it's dash speakers and I sub I'd say no way but if it's towers as well absolutely. I have the 8.8s and they were about a grand a pair plus the mounts that were 150.00

Thanks for the input everyone! If I do move into an 18, I'm definitely going to pass on the M Studio Elite. I'm even thinking about passing on the 2 pairs of 7.7's and just getting them from Crutchfield or some place similar.2018 SAN G23 XR550
