Ok so I bought a roswell aviator tower a few months ago from my local dealer and had them install it. Total cost was around 4100, due to them supposedly having to reinforce the tower with more fiberglass. My problem is I didn't check to see if the tower folds down or not when I picked the boat up. Two weeks ago I went to build a carport at my house and was gonna take measurements of the boat with tower folded down but when I went to fold the tower it was a pain. I literally had to pull it down with a lot of force. Upon letting go it springs forward to the upright position. Now I talked to the dealer and they said it's a weight assist tower and that it would operate normally with tower speakers and maybe a Bimini top. Saying it needed like 150 pounds of weight to make it function properly. Any body here know any truth to this. Or should it function properly without anything on the tower. Looking at the mounts it looks a little out of alignment but it's mounted and has been a good tower besides that little folding issue. They said they mounted it so I could use the ski pylon. I'm not near the boat at the moment but can post pics of the mounts later. But in the meantime does anybody have a solution. And if it's the way they mounted the tower what do I do. I have already taken the boat to them and they talked about cutting the tension bands and using rope to tie it down. I said no. Left the boat there and they removed the bolts that the tension bands go around and said when I get the proper weight on the tower to reinstall them. What should I do.
