Advice on night surfing set up

looking to get some LED lights to enhance late dusk surfing. I have the underwater lights on my g but it is tough to see the wave. What have people done to their boats that has worked well?

Anyone use the liquid lumens Led light bar? Or one similar?

    Thanks in advance

Man I have stock lights that are good but want to check out liquid lumens. Call Rob over there I've talked w him before and seems like a good guy. I've got a feeling these will be awesome.

Also attach glow stick or sticks on your vest so boat driver can see you when they come back to you.

You could get some shadow casters and do something like this. Click image for larger version

Not to be a party-pooper here, but one sure way to get the authorities on you is to surf at night on a patrolled lake. Every summer someone tries it at the lake I live on and gets busted.

Lake patrol should not even be a issue. The entire idea is just plain stupid. Life is hard, it's much harder when your stupid!

You should take the ''fun'' out of ''Sailfun''....

We do it all the time in a safe area and wear glow sticks. It's awesome when there is a full moon. It's a little un safe but a lot of things are and we like to live!

Glow sticks work well and agree having moonlight is awesome and helps with visibility.

While we haven't had this problem, our friends recently lost a surf board while night surfing. The rider fell, board shot out and no luck finding it after looking for an hour.

So next time we will put some reflective tape on the board (or a glow stick) to try and avoid this as we have had a few times where we needed to look for the board as the rider couldn't see/find it.

LOL, surfing is pretty lame day or night, but fun police are making a valid point, tough seeing anything out on the water at night so the element of danger certainly increases. That being said, have I skied or footed at night, heck yah, tons of times and it can be quite a rush as long as you are far from shore, any other boats and its dead calm!! Would I want my kids doing it, no way, even if they had a fancy glow board and sticks!!

Thinking about it, a G23 out on Lake Michigan on a warm dead calm night, full cooler, tunes cranking and endless straight lines might be pretty darn cool!!

Good call on making the board findable!

What lake is that? We don't have water that clear down here in Southeast Texas!

Mcivor lake, on Vancouver Island all the way up in Canada. Some of the best water in North America.

I’m actually in Texas right now and the water is nasty!
