The tower lights are only needed when coming into dock or picking up rider. With a good set of underwater s the whole wake just glows and with some interior lights your passengers are fine.
Back to original question, what do people use for LED lights? On the tower? On the transom?
and I have my brigade board on order!
Night surfing is not legal is Texas so every time we do it we try not to bring attention to ourselves. Therefore we just run with standard nav lights and glow sticks on the vest. Typically we also only do it when we have a full cooler that we are trying to empty, and a full moon out.
However...I've been on boats with lights on the tower; it's blinding and not helpful. I would assume the underwater lights would be most helpful.
Let me know what you think of that board! I've had my eyes on it, but I've never surfed any of their boards.

I have 2 6" Rigid Industries driving lights mounted on the outside of the tower, and two diffused 6" Rigid Industries Diffused Lights for the rear. I don't use the rear lights when surfing with the rider, but it's awesome to kick them on when the rider is down if you want light around the boat...which I like. The trick is getting your forward facing driving lights to not flood the front of the boat. Mine are mounted to my Sewlong.com bimini rack which makes a perfect place to mount the lights outside the boat. The outside location means I have very little light spilling into the bow of the boat and it's focused ahead. My last boat the tower lights lit up the whole interior of the boat which blinded the driver from seeing where I was driving.
looking to get some LED lights to enhance late dusk surfing. I have the underwater lights on my g but it is tough to see the wave. What have people done to their boats that has worked well?
Anyone use the liquid lumens Led light bar? Or one similar?
I installed 1 seablaze 3 on my last boat. loved it.
really lighten up the surf wave. Not enven need a light bar ( things with light bar is that kind of dazzle the rider)
With the front docking lights and light sticks on the life vest make night surfing kind of secure haha.
I just got back from Lake Powell with the Liquid Lumens guys and had the chance to surf with their new Top-Side Lights. Those things are awesome! It's an above water strip LED that mounts above the swim deck. We were on their G23 that had those plus their Underwater Lights on it too. By far the best night-surfing setup I've ever seen. This is one of their photos from the trip. The picture doesn't even do them justice.
The Liquid Lumens guys had one of these Brigade Circuit Boards on the trip too. I liked riding the surfboard on its own, but it was awesome for night surfing!
