2018 Racks

OK, so I'm looking for an answer from either an '18 owner, or someone who has seen these first hand. They are called "over-molded"; from the picture, they look like a polymer (like a Glock pistol) which is good-to me. Are they polymer?

It feels like a thin layer of rubber around the frame.

RDT-G23 thanks for the question and interest in our product. Without giving out any of our TOP SECRET information I can say the inner portion is a polyurethane to help protect and pad the boards in the rack and the outer portion is a polymer as you had suggested to help protect from the elements and impacts.
