Hi. Hope you can help. I'm working on a Mustang with a 302 for a friend. It starts good, runs for about 1/2 mile and stalls. Then it will not restart. I've gone through fuel supply and carburetor. Can't find anything obvious. Another mechanic friend suggested I look at timing. He proposes that if the distributor has been set for automobile rotation then it needs to be corrected for marine rotation. I find it odd the engine would even run but he says it'll run until it hits temperature then it will stall and remain down until it cools off. Does the makes sense?
Does anyone know the firing order and the timing I should look for with the light?
Thanks,
J
