Lol. They need to create a chart of reports of refused service and warranty by manufacturer.

Malibu outright refuses boats for warranty work away from their original dealer.

Its totally driven to get you to buy a new boat. That is why warranty keeps getting better every couple years, to convince you to buy a new boat cause they know you will upgrade again in 3-5yrs (some more, some less) and the next guy will be limited...why not give 1000hrs, they know most people don't put those kind of hours on and the ones that do, can afford to keep buying new...and it has to be a great selling point for something with a bunch of electronics (which many "limit" to 3yrs instead of the full 5 when you read fine print). All brands charge to transfer warranty that I know of and its in their best interest if you don't transfer the warranty paperwork, or don't do something right cause then they don't have to worry about it. IMO, Malibu is the worse for getting out of things on technicalities cause they are investor driven and no owners that give a crap about anything but bottom line. Fineline seems to be the best with least fine print. Who knows tho cause I have seen 2 owners, have same warranty issue at same time and both get completely different results, I think a lot of it depends on how good your dealer is.

Nautique charges $300 to transfer “lifetime” hull / stringer warranty to second owner. My thoughts are there’s a low chance of claim.

As for the 5yr “parts only” $300 transfer fee, makes sense.

Sad “high end” boat makers don’t warrant against defects for the term regardless of owner count.

Say what now? I'd imagine a dealer can refuse service for any reason, but I don't think that has anything to do with Malibu.

Malibu and Axis is 5 years tip to tail, no hour limit, with the exception of cosmetic gelcoat and tower coatings (both are 1 year).
