'16 G23 on Ebay, smoking deal right? Not so fast.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-Super-A...5ZztxY&vxp=mtr

Seems like a really good deal...until googling the Hull ID# and find this page:

    http://www.salvagesale.com/General/L...er/S73458-0001

Can't see how this is being sold with a "clean CA title" when it was totally sunk, had a big hole in the hull and water in the motor. Hoping to save someone a headache here.

The ebay pictures of the boat show it in very good shape when compared to the description on the salvage page. They at least did a great job cleaning it.

Either way, not a good deal at any price. What an electronics nightmare surely.

Surely they have it up and running?? I can't see anyone paying that price for a no working vessel.

Thanks for posting this. Makes you scared to buy a boat used. I saw a similar Malibu being sold from a car dealer lot. It only magnified the stereotype of used car dealers in my mind. And it looks like this is being sold from a used car lot as well.

I do not know about California, but Utah does not have a salvage title for boats. You can't get one if you wanted to. So advertising 'no salvage title' means nothing here. I cannot believe California with all of their rules and regs would not have a salvage title option for boats.

Wow, that sucks, I think eBay should ban him and CA sales licensure should pull his license... So wrong. So scary, people are sick. Couldn't see what it sold for on the first auction, anyone know?

On the title thing, New Hampshire still doesn't have ANY titles for boats, let alone salvage titles. My trailer has a title, but not the boat. The dealer's association has been trying to get this changed for years with no luck.

Edit: the salvage listing closed May, 2016. That's plenty of time for someone to have replaced all the major systems in this boat, and to have done all the cosmetic repairs. That's not to say it won't still have endless minor problems as a result of the sinking, even if they put in a lot of new parts (engine, transmission, dash, stereo, etc.) Hence, salvage title would be HUGELY helpful here....

It's back up on ebay. This time seller says the boat "sustained water exposure/damage." I guess saying it fell off its lift and onto a dock and sunk doesn't sound good.
Was this car totaled? Naa, it was exposed to a telephone pole at an unspecified rate of speed.

Seller appears to be a car rebuilder. Look at his other listing and Google his name. .

Very shadey!!!! He says he bough it and was not told it had past issues, but he is the salvage Company!!!

So did anyone here buy that thing? Just curious as I have seen a few flood boats go through the auction process...I have heard of a couple that were saltwater "sinkers" that have been purchased! Would love to hear how that's going!

The Ebay listing was pulled. The seller re-listed it and included the fact that the boat had been submerged, rebuilt and inspected by a Nautique dealer. Listing says he was unaware of the boat having a salvage title when he purchased it. He welcomes any and all inspections before purchase.

Honestly it sounds like this guy bought the boat, went to sell it and found out it's history. He is doing the right thing by putting all of the information in the current listing. A scammer would have probably not bothered. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt but buyer beware.
