Anybody tow a G23 with a GMC Yukon or Chevy Tahoe?

My F250 7.3 Diesel is down for a few days and wanted to get the G23 to the lake here in TN this weekend. We have a 2010 GMC Yukon (non XL) with 5.3 V8. Anyone use a Yukon or Tahoe to tow? I will be going up and down a few descent short winding grades for a couple of miles to get to the Marina. Anything to worry about?

your trailer should do a lot of the breaking for you but you need still need to downshift (lower your gears) so you don't burn you brake pads. Your engine is not the best for towing this monster but I have towed my G23 with my wife suburban which has the same engine as yours. I normally use an Escalade with 6.2 litter and it does a really nice job. However nothing like diesel engines for sure. Good luck and have fun this weekend!!

You will be fine, just take some extra precautions. I tow a 24+ft boat with my 2016 Z71 Chevy 1500 (with 5.3). Boat with gear is pushing 7000lbs and with dual axle trailer has to be pretty close to 8500lbs....truck is rated for 9,300lbs towing....engine has the direct injection which I think gives it a bit more power and my trailer has hydraulic brakes, which make a difference for sure. Like said, make sure you tow in "haul mode". Zero issues pulling my boat this summer and one of the trips was thru the mountains of TN to Norris Lake, I have put 40k miles on truck in last 11 months, really like the truck and glad it works since I would not need a desiel for anything else since this is the largest thing I tow. Great mileage too with this truck package, even with the towing I "average" 18.5mpg over last 30k miles on truck.

Thanks guys...ended up repairing my power steering on the 7.3 so didn't use the Yukon. Thanks for the info for future towing. Had a great weekend with the boat.
