    G Series Draft Specs

Curious if these can be believed. I struggle to understand how the G23 (draft 25"), which is nearly the same dimensions as the 230 (draft 30"), has 5" less draft than the 230 but yet weighs 1250 lbs more. Are these figures to believed?

Go measure from bottom of platform to the bottom of the rudder and you’ll have your number. It does seem crazy that it’s 5 inch different between the two.

Good call. Only problem is I don't have my boat yet so can't do that but yeah I guess once I have it I can take that measurement. Last time I was on a G23 I never noticed if the platform sat at the water level when empty but sounds like it does eh?

If you’re that worried about water depth that would scare me..

It does scare me but people have been getting away with X23's and 230's in my marina, which I believe have a much higher draft than the G23. So I should be ok. But hence why I asked my original question.

Platform sits above the water, and I asked the same thing of my dealer when I read the draft, and he confirmed its correct.

Yep! If you look at the hull shape on the G23 and a 230 side by side, you can see why the difference in draft is there. One of the many reasons I went with the G23. I have to get in pretty shallow to get my lift in at a reasonable distance.

I've had 3 off them....... the platform sits above the water by 3" to 4" when empty.
The photo of the white boat by thejean has ballast.

Wow, they really sit high out of the water eh? It makes a good case for the swim ladder add-on!

Would be interesting to see G23 and 230 both side by side in the water from the stern view

That looks exceptionally high. I'm guessing the weight up front is pushing the bow down and lifting the stern a bit.

and it’s anchored with wind governing some too
