Draft is correct. Has to do with the shape of the hull. 230 is almost a deeper V shape.

Isn't the G3 wider? If so, that would make it more bouyant and therefor less draft

Yes G23 is 2" wider so that's a good point. But it's also 1250 lbs heavier, which I think would more than make up for that. But likely the V bottom is the major difference.

has somebody actually measured it? I always thought that the G23/G25 would be prohibitive for me - but that was from a mere looks perspective. So despite the 17" prop for a 2017 (plus an " clearance - the prop as lowest point is only 25" below the water line?

Yep, that’s my understanding but to your first question, I have not actually measured it myself.

Well if there is someone where winter hasn’t hit yet

lake i live on has a channel which is a PITA when water levels are low. Banged a rudder 3 years ago with subsequent hull repair ... last season a prop with a 23 LSV. So looking at a new boat and always thought that the G will not work until I finally looked up specs. The pics are revealing a lot - the Malibu is definitely sitting lower in the water than the G but I’m still surprised that the G would be 3 inches less ... so if someone could once measure it? To be honest - based on the licstures shown - there’s little doubt that the hull would be 2ft lower than the waterline on an empty (fuel?) boat ...

My boat floats easily in 3ft of water (measured) with full fuel, gear and 1300lbs of ballast full in the back lockers so I would say the draft measure would be close with full fuel and gear minus the 1300lbs of ballast.
