No push on 2005 SANTE

Guys I need some help. I finally got my boat set up for surfing. Let the boys go first and they had no problem. I get back there and the wave has no push. Only thing I could do was just hold on to the rope and let the boat pull me around. I need some advice on my set up. I have a 650 in each rear locker, stock bell tank was full, which is approx 330. I had a 475 sitting on top of the belly between the driver seat and the observer seat, and a 475 sitting in he middle of the rear bench seat. Also had a nauticurl on the starboard side surfing the port side. Speed 12-12.5 I was trying to ride a liquid force fish.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That's enough weight but try to slow down till 10. I have similar set up and my buddy surfs no problem and I can't find sweet spot yet.

How far off the platform are you surfing at 10mph?

Board is 5'3", I weigh approx 195, in at least 20ft of water, sometimes more.

I found with my 220, wake surf edge, and about 11.2mph - I finally got enough push. Last thing that really helped is ditching my 10 yr old liquid force 5'3" board for a much shorter lighter version at about 4' 10". I had stock tanks full and an extra 540 in front of vdrive. You do loose that power from the old way of tipping boat to port or starboard side though!

Slow the speed down to 9.8-10 mph. A wake shaping device helps to clean up the wave with out listing the boat. My 2004 SANTE I would run 600 in the belly and 750 on each side of the engine with a mission delta at 9.8 mph. The wave had good length and plenty of push.

In addition to slowing down, I would also suggest shifting some of your extra bags to the surf side. Even with a wakeshaper a bit of listing helps, especially if you surf the port side. Maybe go one 475 on the surf side and one in the bow.

The pocket is pretty close to the platform on your boat, but you should still be able to go ropeless with what you have. Make sure to dig those toes in and keep some weight forward.

With Zero off I have the best wake at 10.3 to 10.5 mph. I have a surf device and still list the boat a little for the best wave. I think you are a little fast, just slow it down and you should be good.

+1 that 12 is too fast. Wave flattens out big time.
also fish has much smaller surface area. I ride a ‘16 dart which is much wider.

I run at 10.5 too on gps not paddle wheel.
In addition to about 650 bags in each rear locker and 375 in the ski locker,
I have 15X50lb lead bags and move about 8 to surfside outer hull wall in front of the couch or I remove the corner cushion when surfing port side.
Also have our third person riding in the rear surf side.

I have noticed that the placement of the surf device makes a huge difference too. Try moving it around. Moving it forward, backwards, up and down. I tend to run with a different size crew every time I go out, and with that I feel like I have relocate the device to compensate.

I find that the top of the device should be an about inch above the water line while not moving, and the more weight I have the further back on the boat it needs to be. The OG SANs can put out a respectable wave, just takes a bit to dial it in.

2004 210 here. We go between 9.8 and 10.5 depending on board and crew. 750's in the 2 rears. stock belly, 75% full 500lber in the walkway, 500 in the rear seating area, probably 100 of lead in the nose. We list the boat a little for regular riders. The wave just isn't as good as the goofy wave.
The board also makes a big difference for us. If we're demoing a thruster/dart/blender/insert fast board here or any other fast board, we can go faster and still get push. But we typically ride a 4'10 Buzz at 9.8-10.5 and its got decent push

I should have mentioned. I run the mission surf device. I have it reversed and place it as far back and low as I can get it.

Thank you all for your replies. I finally was able to get the wave dialed in. Turns out we had to list the boat slightly and reposition some of the weight. And slowing down was a huge factor.
