    Winterizing a H5

Are you guys with the new H series engines dry blocking over the winter or draining and then filling with AF? It'd be great to pull the plugs and call it good. Thanks

Your owner's manual actually has some decent instructions regarding this.

If it is like the H6, then there is a nice convenient block where each of the engine plugs goes for storage after you take them out, and they are labeled so you know if you have any empty slots where the plugs are stored, you missed a plug. Then empty the strainer, and you are good to go.
If you have a heater, then you still have to remove a hose or two and blow it out. That is always the first thing to freeze if you are trying to delay winterization so you can ride again if you catch a warm November day.

My H6 has those drain plugs you are referencing but I have a Coastal Edition therefore the engine is only partially fresh water since the balance of the engine is cooled with antifreeze. My question in this situation, I realize I would remove all my engine plugs and empty water strainer like discribed above but the difference would be that I would need to drain the Heat Exchanger which is different than the H5 and H6 raw water cooled engines? Just looking for someone to validate that I'm correct in my statement.

The heat exchanger should definitely have a drain plug unless perhaps it drains via one of the hoses, if it has a plug remove it!
