Beautiful, clear, green mountain water. Haven’t had my boat on it yet but it’s #1 on my wishlist for a lake home so we can enjoy both lake life and mountain life in the same house. Otherwise I’ll be interested to see what someone more familiar with the lake says. -

Beautiful, clean lake at the foot of the Blue Ridge mountains. Property on the Lake ranges anywhere from 220k waterfront 1 ac lot to 1.5M for 3500 sq ft home. Closest towns are Marion, which is small and quiet, not a lot going on. Or, Morganton which is growing and still has a small town feel. Crime is low and the people are typically very nice. The best part imho is the mountains. Views along the Blue Ridge Parkway are amazing especially this time of year. I grew up in the area and travel a lot for work and pleasure but there are few places I would rather live.
