Currently my 2014 has just under 400 hours and everyone is afraid of it even though it looks new and is way better than most

I don't think you will. You're getting a good deal and the next buyer will as well.

Look at it this way, what will a motor job run on that? $15k? Seems like a reasonable risk to take so long as the boat is in good shape otherwise. Remember, hours isn’t just on the motor. Wear and tear is another factor.

Yeah exactly! Let’s say worse case, new motor and a professional cut polish all over. I’m still ahead of the game. When I say ahead of the game I’m still a little worried resale.

When a new motor is installed is the hour meter reset? I know the boat will still have all those hours but it might make the new new buyer feel better, and yes I would still be clear about hours.

Wear and tear is not only on the cosmetic aspect of the boat. Depending on how heavily you load your boat, it will "loosen" more or less and there is nothing you can do about it. Take a car for example, brand new you do not have much crack type noise inside. After many miles, depending on the initial manufacturing margin for all assemblies, you start to hear cack noises, or some type of noises when you drive, turn. This is what I mean by loosening: gaps on all assemblies will widen over time and there is nothing you can do about it, this is wear & tear. You should test drive a brand new G21 and a 1000 hours G21 in the same hour and you should be able to notice the difference on how it drives, feels and more.

That’s a great suggestion for when test driving. Never would have thought to compare to a new one.

Also they said the ballast was never full most of the time, due to the primary use being teaching first time wakeboarders.

I think a direct comparison between a new and 1,100 hour Nautique will demonstrate the quality of the brand. I'll admit to having zero G experience, but I've driven new 200's and a high-hour 200, and nothing seemed to loosen up on it. 700 hours on my old '06 SN196, and it also had zero rattles or squeaks (sold it 11 months ago), and still drove like new.

Same here. I had my 99 Air Nautique for 17 years. Sold it with over 800 hours on it and I didn't have any "loosening" or squeaks. In fact, it drove just as good as it did the day I bought it. Now I did take VERY good care of that boat and I replaced the steering cable a few years ago.

I regularly ride on a 200 Nautique with 1400 hours on it. It is in amazing condition, and I would never guess that it had so many hours.

I routinely state that hours are not a big deal on boats as long as maintained well. But that perception will NEVER get out of buyer's heads, so that is why you will get a great deal. If you plan on reselling, then plan on taking the same hit as you are gaining now. This would be ideal for someone who wants to keep it for 5 years or more. If you planned on reselling in a year or two, then you will take a bath when you sell it and you may as well bought a newer one because the depreciation is going to be about the same.

                    Thanks for the positive feedback.

I didn’t even think of it but my skiing friends have a 13 snob with 750 hours and it’s literally perfect.

So now that we’ve established that it’s worth while. What would you pay?

I don't think any of us can really answer that without seeing the boat in-person, driving it on the water, etc. There are just too many variables otherwise.

Maybe seeing pictures and equipment would help. Is it this one? https://www.kijiji.ca/v-powerboat-mo...ationFlag=true

Looks some of the pictures are of the actual boat and some are marketing pics...

Not yet, just talking with the dealer. It’s a full day road trip away. There’s 3 boats I want to go check out so I’ll make a weekend out of it.
