I noticed this several months ago and had the carpeted fender covers replaced on the Port side, originally thought the damage was due to shipping problems (warranty work). Come to find out the spray deflector on the 211 is rubbing the carpet and catching the installation screws in the fender covers and chipping the gelcoat. I hope I have attached two pictures showing this. Last weekend I all but floated the boat off the trailer suspecting the problem, put it in reverse and prop torque pulled it to the port side, it backed up a foot then I felt the snag and knew immediatly what was happening. Throttled forward to get the stern to the starboard and finished backing off the trailer. Damage done. Enjoyed a week at Smith Mountain Lake and now need to resolve this issue. I typically don't have the liesure to completely float the boat off the trailer and shouldn't have too. I personnally think the guide poles are too far apart, 103"+ for a 93" wide boat. Currently contacting the dealer, but looking for additional info to provide to him to get this resolved efficiently and quickly.

Are you sure this damage is not happening when you are loading? Maybe the boat is not sitting straight on the trailer when powering up or maybe the trailer is not level in the water causing the boat to ride up on the fenders.1973 CC Skier

I just looked at the pic again-its not in the same spot as the 211, mine is at the rear of the boat. So im not sure how that would contact any part of the trailer.2006 210

Is it just me, or is the gel-coat on the newer boats more fragile?
On the first trailer I had, the lower bow roller damaged the gel-coat causing similar damage. On my current trailer the upper bow roller near the bow eye caused more gel-coat chipping like the layers just crumbled off.
Did CC change the gel-coat type recently?

You could try and replace the side bunks with larger pieces to get a larger contact area. Also, put carriage bolts on them so, that the nut and extra length are to the outside of the trailer. Then you don't have any sharp objects pointing towards the boat.

Mine did the same thing. The screws were not inserted all the way in from the factory. That is a poor instlation in the first place, allowing the screwheads to be where they can come in contact with the boat in the first place. Who was the Jr. VP that thought that up.Life is Short, Live it!
