    Is surf select worth it?

My order for a 2018 210 just went in and I didn’t order surf select with it. I figured it would be just as easy for the driver to hit the button to change sides as it would be for the rider. My dealer called and said I may want to change my mind because it could hurt resale. It’s a $900 option. Thoughts?

Yep. Your dealer isn't telling you about all the other things it does. It's much more than just switching sides:

Yes your riders will want their own control vs driver. My whole family loves their own control and features. Bite the bullet and get it

I'll go against the popular opinion. I want to concentrate on my riding, not the wave. Set it up, off you go, I don't see the value in having to tweak the wave when I'm riding, a shout to the driver solves any problems.

I'd get it purely for resale - am doing so with my G that's on order.

Sounds to me like you're trying to convince yourself of that rather than the rest of us.

We did not order it on our 210 either. If the boat is set up, the boat is set up, just ride!

To each their own but much easier to push a button on your Pebble Watch to switch surf sides vs yelling to driver in the boat to switch sides.
If ordering a boat, you will regret not adding this option

The pebble will still work with the 18 models?

As we understand it right now, yes. I do know the 2018s absolutely do have an option in the LINC to "Pair with Pebble." That said, I haven't actually tested with it yet. My dealer has a new 2018 in with Surf Select but hasn't brought it inside and taken the shrink-wrap off yet. As soon as it's in, I'm going to go down and do a new video on Pebble integration with the 2018.

I think it would be cool for dialling in the wave but besides that not really.

The percentage of riders that can switch sides is so minimal I highly doubt you are eliminating many future buyers by not getting it. A hand signal to switch is not a huge deal, I’d rather the driver make all the moves that effect the boat operations. But as you said, to each their own. I have never wished we had it on our current NSS equipped boat so can’t see needing it moving forward.
