Ballast System Sale

For those looking to install ballast or upgrade, Wakemakers is having a decent sale on their ballast systems this weekend. I pulled the trigger on one after looking at them for several months now.

The forum has been super helpful in idea generation for my project as well! I'd imagine others are also having sales for black Friday but I haven't seen any

What setup did you go with? Please document the install!

Jeff, sorry about that - it should be moved since I don't have any results for the project yet. I'll definitely document the install in my '95 NSS. Ordered a 780gph Johnson reversible pump. Going w just 1 zone in the back for now, with plans to add more zones for the belly and bow later on. Going to have a baby onboard next year, so I'm hoping the auto ballast makes things easier

This is great! A few questions for you:
1. Did you vent the bags? Doesn’t look like you did and maybe you don’t need to?
2. What happens if bags overfill? Looks like you have only one line going to bag from pump.
3. Do you have pumps pushing water back out the bottom through hull fitting when draining? Did you set up check valves so water doesn’t push into other bags with doing this?
4. Did you opt to go with pump timers?

1. No vents
2. I check bags wile filling so I might get timers for next season, at least for center bag.
3 one 1,1/4in thru hull for filling and draining, pump impellers act as check valves.
4. I will get timer at least for center bag.
