    From 94 Sport to 2018 SAN 210...thoughts?

well hello fellow Nautique fans. I am making the switch from a 94 Sport Nautique to a 2018 SAN 210. Whats your thoughts on this? Will this feel like an upgrade but with similar characteristics but v-drive? WIll the boat feel more or less space compared to my 94 Sport. Will it have that sport car feel that my older one had or slightly less performance being a v drive. All thoughts are welcome and much appreciated. I wanted something very similar. I didn't want to feel like I am in a bigger boat but wanted better seating that what I had. A v drive that offers comfortable seating and not putting two people way in the back where they would get spray or in the bow which wasn't all too comfy. I don't have a crew. Just my family and I ...5 total .. And in general I don't want to be out on the boat with more than 6-8 max at a time only for short periods also. anyway hope all is well and thanks for your time..
btw......the 2018 rendition is what I have on order..... super excited!!

My thoughts are that you made an excellent choice. The new 210s are really awesome.

My thoughts are you are going to love it and never look back. The new 210's are awesome in every way. More storage, more room better wake and wave for surfing and a much better layout, better vinyl and sea deck instead of carpet.just a complete upgrade in every way. Yes it will drive a little different but it handles very well and responsive. Great choice !

Last year I upgraded my 1995 Sport to a 2008 210. Just that jump in years is like a night and day difference. Everything is better on my 2008, except of course gas mileage, but that's expected. Eventually I want to upgrade to a newer boat with NSS and an easier tower to fold. You will love your new boat!

OK, I can certainly relate to this. I went from a 99 Air Nautique (really a Sport Nautique with tanks, a tower and graphics) to a 2017 SANTE 230. Huge jump, no doubt. To answer your questions:

          - It will most certainly feel like an upgrade. Everything has been improved since the 90s.

          - You will have WAY more space than your old Sport. Moving the engine to the back really makes the boat more social. There's a place for everyone to sit in the new boat.

          - The "sports car feel." Sadly, no. I know someone will say I'm wrong, but no. The older inboards just handled beautifully and although the 210 you're after isn't bad, it will not have the same feel as the Sport. For handling, nothing beats the mid-engine design.

          - That said, assuming you're wakeboarding and wakesurfing, you'll get a LOT more use out of the 210. Everyone will want to go. You can put a banging stereo in it.

It was a difficult decision for me. I had that 99 Air for 17 years and my entire family learned how to ski and wakeboard behind that boat. We kept a running tally and that boat taught more than 100 people how to get up and ride a wakeboard. It was a really emotional day watching it go. I still miss it sometimes.

What options did you order on your 210?

          -Charles

I had an '01 Pro Air before upgrading to an '07 210, and the 210 was hands down a better boat in every way! Personally, I preferred the handling of the 210, especially around the dock. The 210 backs to the right and just seemed easier overall to maneuver. The interior space is so much more user friendly than a direct drive as well. Plus, you're getting the upgraded touchscreen dash and NSS, so there is no question in my mind that you're going to love your new boat! What engine did you go with and where do you typically use your boat?

Welcome to the future, my friend. Practically the same size footprint with room for the galaxy. Handling might lack a little compared to your old boat, but you won’t miss it.

Thank you all for the nice replies. I am super excited to get the new boat. I used to ride the Delta primarily when I had my older boat, also my favorite lake is Lake Tulloch, Ca. I wish it was here already. As far as options I went with pro ballast. awareness camera, 2 pairs tower speakers, premier stereo with subwoofer and six speakers, bow filler cushion, heater/defroster, bimini, boat and platform cover, docking lights,
