Passably an air nautique because of the tower ?
You don't have an Air Nautique as they didn't make them in '94. Your sport is also 21ft. Air Nautique is a Sport Nautique with Tower and ballast but the first real Air was made in 98 and uses the slightly updated Sport Hull. Your hull is actually supposed to be a bit better for wakeboarding then the first Air Hulls that came out in 1998. You should be very happy with what you've got that boat has a great clean wake that just gets bigger and bigger the more weight you add to the boat.

Take a look at the reference section of the site to see the 1994 brochure and the different options available.

Prop is a little under $400 delivered. You can maybe fix your existing props but I'd only bother is they are new cnc props. Post model numbers and we can help.

Google how to check shaft alignment on a Nautique. You should find a few posts. If it's very bad you may be able to tell by turning the prop by hand. Prop should turn easily and smoothly with two hands. Look for any alignment issues. Also move the prop side to side up and down to check for play in the shaft. A loose shaft bearing could also be an issue.

yea I'm gong to get the boat I'm my heated shop middle of month to thaw it all out to test for these symptoms of bearing or bent shaft or alignment . ive been doin some extensive reseasearch on direct drive as my previous boats were v drive and out board. complete different life stlye. I'm going to send away and rebuild my 4 blade its a 1868 12.5x14.25v r1" . the more digging I do on this unit the more I come to realize how much of a jem ive got . theres no factory ballasts in this unit but previous owner plumbed in 3 pumps and a fat sack under the bow seat. and 3 other ones to sit around the engine bay. allowing to weigh down either side more for surfing. only had it out once then had to winterize it such a shame . but gives me time to learn and understand whats ive got and what Ive got to do. on that one ride I noticed that shimmy never thought much about it but became to learn that that's a problem that needs to be addressed . other things like glan seals and rutter seals are all new to me . any idea what a unit like this would b worth after I get the shimmy taken care of. . interior a little rough few cracks In the seats that ill repair.

ive got so many questions about this thing thank you for your help theres no other boats like this in the area where I live so no one to discuss with. even dealerships in my area don't carry direct drives or have the knowledge in them . nothing but fhising boats and pontoon boats around here . gonna make some friends stirring up the lakes this summer.

Don't get overly worried about the stuffing box seal. SO many people get all worked up over it because it drips. It's SUPPOSED to drip. It needs to. If it isn't dripping, then it's too tight and the driveshaft will heat up. If it's doing anything less than pouring out, leave it alone. It's perfectly fine.

Boats is probably worth about 10k to 14k.

Really not enough info to value it as things like hours, interior condition and trailer condition will make a big difference to value.

Good idea to get the prop fixed. Looks like a nice prop.

The boat is really good for Wakeboarding and pretty good for surfing and skiing too. For surfing, get a suck gate type product. It will make the wave much better and you can fill the ballast evenly.

Only real downside to the boat is that is doesn't have much storage.

The Ski Nautique is primarily designed for slalom, trick or jump (three event boat). Not that you can't perhaps wakeboard behind it; I think wakesurfing would be difficult to accomplish just by the design of the boat. This is basically a flat bottom boat producing a flat wake which does not lend itself well for wakeboarding and wakesurfing. Some do wakesurf behind direct drive boats but it will require many water ballast sacks.

That boat belonged to a close friend of mine here in Northern WI a few years back. He is actually the one who Had some head work done on the engine, built the tower, tinted the windshield, and wrapped it! Lots of good times behind that boat before we could make the jump to v drive SANs!

your shimmy is likely the prop. You will want an acme 480. It’ll set u back about $400 US.

My friend also plumbed the auto ballast with simer reversible pumps and put the acme 1868 on there. Definitely set up real nice. Fill all the sacs and go. My experience with this boat led me to pick out a sport 2 years after he sold it. He didn’t have any issues with it when he owned it and I had a similar good fortunes with mine for the 4 seasons or so I had it.

Hey ya that’s cool this guy used to b from dauphin apparently . And also the guy I bought it from too . He drove all the way down to pick it up from Canada Manitoba . That boats got some history on it . First boat I ever wake boarded behind and told him that day if your ever gonna sell let me know . Sure enough 5 years later I get a message and bought it . What kind of hp does this thing have do u know ? Ur buddy did nice work to it . Definitely got the most out of it . The reversible pump is genious makes for easier use and plumbing .

I’m going to try and get the prop balanced but if I need to replace it is there a toss up between the 1868 that I have or the 480? Any pros or cons ? I also have a 3 blade apparently for barefoot skiing . Looks pritty rough shape tho might just keep it as a spare for emergency .

I had a 94 sport for a few years and set it up basically the same as your boat. I sold it last spring after buying a 95 super sport v drive in fall 2016. As far as difference between the props, I’m not sure specifically but googling the models will give you info as to how they compare from a diameter/ pitch/ cup standpoint. I had an acme 654 and was happy with it, as it would plane out with as much ballast I could load in to the boat.

As for the engine work, when my friend bought it, it wasn’t running right so he picked it up for a super deal. I think he ended up having a shop re-mill the heads, maybe grind the valves, and install new head gaskets which solved the issue and it ran flawlessly afterwards.

What kind of transmission maintainnce have u done on the transmission ? Did I religiously change oil ? Or at all ? You know what kind of transmission are in these boats ? 1:1? Have u ever had to align the drive system on it either ? I’m worried if the prop Dosent fix the problem I might have to dig into the alignment process .
