I went the second week in December. When we got there, they told me they would have cancelled my tour if they had my phone number. We couldn’t go in the area where they make the hulls/decks. They said they had “a construction project going on.” I’m a contractor and I saw no signs of construction so... My dealer said he thinks there’s a secret new project going on.

I wonder if it could be they've got 200R hulls on the production line, and want to keep them hidden? I only toss that possibility out there, since that's a boat that is due to debut sometime in the near future.'08 196LE (previous)

I just wrapped up my tour, and it is a super cool experience. I asked Anthony if they had shut the tours down for a bit or what the situation is with that, and he said they are closed to the “public” until March. Apparently they do have some projects they are working on so small sections of the facility were off limits but I was able to see a portion of every stage of the process. If you are jonesing to go before March, you may have better luck if you have your dealer call and schedule something, seems to be the only way a tour would happen now. If there is no urgency, I would wait until after March and go when they reopen their doors.

I have never been to their shop before today, but I got to see every single stage of the process, which I assume means I got to see almost all of the place. It would be hard, unless it's pretty much done and assembled on the finish floor, for me not to have seen something. Now that said, being honest here, he could have pointed at a mold or seat fabrication of this new boat and I would have had zero clue what I was looking at. Everything is made inside out and upside down and every other way your brain is really not meant to work. Crazy thing I learned is an interior is made from start to finish every 43 minutes, completely by hand. Only machine element is cutting the skin patterns and foam. Complete assembly done by hand in 43 minutes. I thought that was crazy.

That's by multiple people working g on a single boat right? I can't imagine one person getting that done in 43 in minutes.
