    sv211 question for owners

Last night we demo'd the 211. I noticed that under cruise that the windshield top line is directly in my line of sight. Have any of you noticed this and had any concerns or not? Also, are you happy with the drivers seat? Current boat is an 89' 2001. May upgrade but not sure. We took out 5 people, boarded with no ballest and full ballest and noticed a nice difference in the ramp. We also were able to get some great surfing in on the passengers side by only moving everyone over there (no change in ballest). Trying to make wife happy! Thanks for your input.

At 6'1" I find that if I want to sit up straight the top line is in my view when at speeds above 25mph. However when I recline back into the seatback, it improves enough to not bother me. Took some getting used to since my old Sprt Naut had a seat that made you sit up straight. Doesn't seem to bother anyone while driving at WB speeds or if shorter then 5'8" (my wife).

Yes, I noticed the same thing when I first purchased my 211. However, I no longer think about it and I almost always sit on the bolster seat and look over the windshield.

Thank you for your input. We are going to make up our mind on the boat soon. Looking to purchase a red hull white strip team edition. I was amazed at how weel the boat provided a surf wave with no movement of weight and only three people on the left side.

I think it's a problem if you are between 6'0" and 6'3", I am about 5'10" and sit comfortably straight looking through the windshield, I never use the seat bolster. My wife is 5'2" and she doesn't use the seat bolster either. If you find the seat position problematic you can easily add spacers to raise the seat. My drivers seat came with a 1/2" spacer that could probably be removed if I needed.

The 211 makes a good surfing wake with stock ballast, it's a very easy boat to surf behind. Depending on the rest of the crew I will surf either side. If it's just me I prefer the slightly cleaner side behind the driver, I just surf it with my back to the wake.

One more thing... For boarding run the center tank 1/2 to 3/4 full. The wake is too flat with it full.

              mikeski,

Thanks for the info on the seat risers. I am going to check to see if the boat has these. 1/2" lower would be about perfect. If anyone else has any advice or input on the boat please let us know.

I love the 211 - owned it since March of '04 - the winshield took a little getting used to - but I've adjusted by using the bolster or leaning forward as necessary. The other family convenience factors that the boat provides far outweigh this issue...

I'm 6'2" and have the same issue. If I sit like a statue the top of the windshield is in the way, but I move the seat back, and slide down my butt an inch or so, and I have NO problem. I would have never though of this if it wasn't for your e-mail so I paid special attention to it today, I can see all I need to, especially the Game Wardens heading my way. You can't out run them in these boats, so just pull over and inspect away.

kinda noticed that too (5'11")... however i lean back and enjoy the ride looking through the winshield... btw, the x-2 is the same way..

the only time i used the bolster to look over the windshield is too naviagte the sandbars at the river....

6'0" and have never noticed the problem. I look straight through the windshield. Ocassionally I use the bolster seat, but not much. I must have just gotten used to slouching in my seat or something. My bigger problem is using the tower mirror for long periods of time.

I drove a 211 for the first time over the weekend...I'm 6' and I could look through the windshield...I agree with AN211 - the mirror placement is a little high for me.

you can move the mirror up or down by loosening the hex bolts that connect it to the tower.
