    Gang,

I've been working on this for several hours now. Someone on the Nautique Owners FB Page reached out and he's trying to get a Pebble Classic to work with his YM2016 boat. Here's the problem:

    - For a 2016, the Pebble has to run firmware 2.9.1. It cannot run 3.12.3 which works for MY2017 and MY2018 boats.

I can push the 2.9.1 firmware to the watch. It loads and comes up and then needs to talk to the phone. Fine. Bring up the app and it pairs.... but then I run into another problem. The 2.9.1 firmware doesn't work fully with the Pebble App on the phone. I can't get past the setup screen therefore, I cannot ;push the Surf Select app down to the watch.

So I can then go out to the Apple App Store and get the OLD VERSION of the Pebble app. This loads and pairs with the watch and then I run into the next problem:

    - The old version of the Pebble phone app is looking for Pebble servers. They don't exist anymore. They've been replaced with the Rebble servers but I can't figure out any way to get the app to "talk" to the Rebble servers instead. Without this, I cannot push the Surf Select app down to the watch.

I'm still looking at this and trying to figure out a way to persuade it to work. I'm not optimistic. Without access to Rebble from the OLD VERSION of the app, I'm just not seeing any way to push the Surf Select app to the watch.

If there are 2016 owners that REALLY want Surf Select with the Pebble watch, you'll have to contact you dealer and order PN 170155. This is the 2.0 version of the Surf Select circuit-board. It will work in 2016 boats and let you use firmware 3.12.3 on the Pebble watch.

With a 2018 boat, you should be good on latest and greatest. Tell me more about what's wrong. Will it not pair to the boat?

Well I orginally had a pebble 2 with the current software but would not connect, so I bought a pebble time because that is listed on the nautique compatibilty sheet. The sheet says firmware 3.xx, I am hoping that the sheet was made before 4.xx was out. I havent had a chance to pair to boat but was just worried about the firmware.

            OK. Steps:

            - Make sure the Surf Select App is on the watch and that it will start up.
            - On the watch, go into Bluetooth and have it forget any phones. There should be nothing in the paired devices screen.
            - Pair it with the boat.

If this doesn't work, get back to me and we'll try some things to sort it out.

Both should work on a 2018. I have a 2017 and use both Time and Pebble 2 eventhough Nautique compatibility sheet does not show the Pebble 2

I tried for over an hour with the pebble 2, every way possible and couldn’t get the boat to see it.

Could you get your Pebble Time to function?

Just may sure before you take your Pebble Time down to your boat that you Forget all bluetooth connections on the watch first then when you walk down to your boat to pair do not take or have any cell phones on your boat that will cause issues when you are trying to pair up the watch with your boat.

OK gang, I just confirmed with Nautique Engineering that the Surf Select Module 2.0 P/N 170155 is compatible with MY2016 boats. This module is $279 is available from Nautique dealers. This module will bring the Surf Select up to the current level in 2017 and 2018 boats.

This seems to be the only option for owners of MY2016 boats. I've spent several hours trying to get a Classic to run the old firmware and NSS app without success. I can get the firmware pushed to the watch, but not the NSS app. With the old firmware, the watch will ONLY work with the old version of the phone app. And that phone app is NOT compatible with Rebble. With that limitation, I cannot download the NSS app to the watch.

How involved is the changeout of the module? I assume it's in the dash?

Nautique should offer the part at cost or cover labor under warranty so the feature (which we paid for) is actually use-able.

It just plugs in. The module is located in the Starboard locker on the bulkhead divider. It's a black box with a yellow ring around it. . It's a simple swap.

You'll have to negotiate with your dealer on the labor costs. Personally, I'd just get the part and do it myself.

Great that you have your Pebble Time working on your 18. I use my Pebble Time every time I go surfing behind my 17. Now that you have it paired up I would be curious if you could ever get your Pebble 2 to pair . The Pebble 2 works on my 2017 but I downloaded all software to the watch prior to the demise of Pebble and the start up of Rebble which may be the difference???
