I just spoke with WLM about this information. There has been NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT from Nautique on the Garmin for 2020. I'm not saying your dealer didn't tell you that. They may have someone there who slipped them a note under the table but there is nothing official from Nautique on this yet.

He's been selling Nautiques for 19 years, so maybe he did receive a note under the table, or maybe he's a salesman and full of kaka. Who knows, just passing along his comment.
Although it will cost quite a bit more, I'm pondering ordering a 2020 for simply this reason. By telling me about Garmin, he hurt his chances of moving his last 2019.
Cheers,

GMLIII - Cool. I'l admit, I didn't even look who posted. Thank you for clarifying. Cheers.
As I'm new to the sport, controlling surf settings from my wrist seems a necessity as I need to figure out how the boat best surfs for me. The decision: Take the deal on the 2019, and use a Pebble (Discontinued) for as long as it works. Or, do I pay more for a 2020 with newer, supported technology.
Cheers,

OK, let's try this again. The oldest Nautique dealer in the world told me TODAY in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS that Nautique has NOT announced any support for the Garmin. Any talk you hear of it for 2020 is purely rumor at this point. There is not "newer, supported technology" at this time. It's still Pebble.

OK we FINALLY have an announcement from Nautique on this. It's on their website under "New for 2020."
GARMIN APP FOR NAUTIQUE SURF SELECT
New for 2020, we’ve developed a Garmin app to remotely control Surf Select 3.0-enabled Nautiques while you surf or wakeboard. Change your boat’s speed, music volume, NCRS, and NSS settings, quickly use ballast shift or change the wave side and transfer on the fly. This app works with any Garmin Fenix 5 Plus, Fenix 5S Plus or Fenix 5X Plus watch.
Now the next question is whether or not this can be retrofitted to 2016-2019 boats. I'll get an inquiry into my dealer next week.

Thanks for the heads up! Can’t wait to find out if my 2017 can be retrofitted!
