Has anyone upgraded their 2.0 Surf Select module (2017-2019 model years) to the 3.0 module so the Garmin watch can function with the Surf Select feature? I was just curious since there has been zero discussion on this upgrade thus far the forum .

Do you guys know if the surf select 3.0 will support the Fenix 6 series? I have taken about a 10 year hiatus from triathlons and thinking of getting back into training this year. The 6 series is incredible (5 is too but I hate outdated tech). Thoughts?Comment

Please let us know how this turns out. Most likely, they'll be upgrading it from Surf Select 1.2 to 3.0. There were only a few 2016s with Surf Select 2.0. Those were ones that had Surf Select installed by the dealer.Originally posted by JRW160 View Post

Forgot to circle back on this. I had my 2016 g23 upgraded to surf select 3.0 over the winter. Cost was a little over $400 from my local dealer. Works great with a Garmin Fenix 5 plus, which a little more thant the upgrade. Watch controls NSS, NCRS, speed, volume, surf side, volume, and allows you to shift ballast.Comment
