Good information. I was really hoping the Garmin would offer more functionality than the Pebble. I suppose the change from Bluetooth to WiFi might fall into that category but that alone isn't nearly enough for most of us to upgrade.

Thanks for posting but I must ask . The 3.0 module is close to $350.00 for the part alone . How did your dealer install and set up for so cheap? I want to do the same thing but have held back for fear dealer will charge a huge amount for labor and set up fee

Just checked the receipt. They charged me $321 for the part and $62 for .5hrs labor to install.

How are you supposed to download the app to a new pebble watch? I am on iOS. Seems like if you don’t already have the pebble app, you are out of luck.

Once Charles chimes in he should be able to help you . You get the Pebble app from Rebel.which is a third party outfit which runs and maintains the Pebble software now

I’m also interested in buying a spare working pebble watch off of anyone on the forum if they have a spare they’re not using any more or if you upgraded to the garmin/3.0

                    It's not too bad:

                    - Get the Pebble app on your phone. It's in the iTunes store.
                    - Start the Pebble app on your phone.
                    - From your phone, open a web browser to rebble.io
                    - Create an account there and log into it. It's free.
                    - Go back to the Pebble app. In the upper left corner, there will probably be a Yellow Exclamation mark. Tap that.
                    - In the upper right, tap the X to go back. The Yellow exclamation should now be white.
                    - On the bottom row, tap the "Apps" button. At the top, tap "Get Apps."
                    - This will take you to the Rebble app store. Do a search for Nautique. There's only one app. Add it.
                    - In your Apps list, you should see Nautique Surf Select at the bottom.

                    On to the watch:

                    - Make sure it's charged and then do a Factory Reset.
                    - When it's done with that, click "Connect" from the Pebble app on your phone. This will take you through a couple of pairing processes.
                    - This will also update the firmware on the watch. Let it complete.
                    - At one point, it'll ask you about Enabling Notifications. No reason to do this so opt out.
                    - When it's all done with everything, you should see the Surf Select app on the watch. It'll be at the bottom of the list.

                    Preparing for the boat:

                    - From your phone, forget all Pebble devices in Bluetooth.
                    - From the watch, forget the phone. There must be NO devices showing in the watch Bluetooth device list.
                    - From the LINC, go to the "Purple" menu.
                    - In the Purple menu, tap "System." On the right, you should see Pair with Pebble Watch.
                    - From the watch, go to the bluetooth menu.
                    - Tap the Pair button on the LINC. It should pair in just a few seconds.

Perfect. Thanks. Now that I know it can still work, I’ll pick one up off eBay.

JRW160 was kind enough to grab the .prg file from his watch and send it to me to try and sideload on my wife's 5S (not supported). It appears to be working 100% but won't be able to test until we get a nice day on the boat. I assume this will work on the regular 5 and 5x as well but try at your own risk. Possibly could work on earlier fenix models as well and maybe forerunner etc???? TEST AT YOUR OWN RISK as you may brick your watch.

                          File can be found here

                          https://drive.google.com/file/d/13Ok...w?usp=drivesdk

                          Easy to do,

Connect watch to computer then copy the .prg file that you downloaded and paste in the watches apps folder. The watch shows up as drive E: on my computer so E:/GARMIN/APPS is where you want to paste the file. Let it copy over and then disconnect your watch from the computer. I did a reboot on the watch as well prior to trying it out.

Hope this helps some out and hopefully we can buy "cheap" used watches off eBay and have this app function on them without the fear of losing a $500+ watch in the lake.

I managed to get to the boat and try it out and it works!! Paired up nice and quick and not a lesson in frustration like the pebble was. All functions music volume, ncrs, NSS, speed, wave side, ballast shift all worked. Unfortunately it appears we've lost some functionality from the pebble as I could not get the music to change tracks which was probably the feature I used the most. Maybe I'm missing something so if someone knows how to change the track please let me know.

Debating cancelling my Fenix 6x order and finding a used 5x now as I'm pretty sure it should work on that watch as well. I'd be curious to know if anyone has a 3 if it worked on it. I'd leave that watch in the boat at the marina without worry and if lost in the lake not as big of a deal.

I'm using my Pebble every week, have still a few on the side for the future and the best - nobody wants to steal it As far as I can remember, there wasn't ever an option to change the track, just volume.

Push and hold volume up and the track will change.
