Discussion with Nautique regarding the replacement for Pebble watch
For proper visibility and search capabilities, you should start a new thread. Maybe something like "Surf Select on older Garmin Watches" or something. I think that would keep the discussion focused.
So none of the 2019 boats got Surf Select 3.0? I'm picking up a 2019, which had an in-service date in April of 2020. Not sure when it was actually manufactured, but I'm wondering which module it has in it. I want to order a Pebble watch if that's what I will need for it. I don't really want to change out the surf select module; and from reading this thread I like that the Pebble has the Next Track option, whereas Garmin does not. Unless there has been an update since this thread.
I do not believe there were any 2019s with Surf Select 3.0. It was introduced with the MY2020 boats. The best way to check is to inspect the Surf Select module. It'll have a sticker on the cable with the version number. You can also see it in the LINC under the firmware display.
Yeah sadly thats true, people were just saying Nautique 'cant' support the Apple Watch because it doesnt have buttons and therefore will not work in water. It absolutely works in water. *Why* Nautique refuses to ever do any integration with them is the part that baffles me.
We never buy surf select anymore because I hate carrying the remote, but if it worked with the watches we'll probably already have on, I'd definitely pay for it.
I was purely commenting on it 'working in water and not having physical buttons'. It works with the stereo, phone, my garage door open, and tons of other things. It *could* work with the boat if Nautique wanted it to.

I asked one of the Nautique reps about this at a boat show. They said they tried the Apple Watch and several other touchscreen watches and they worked, but not reliably with wet hands. That's why they originally picked Pebble and then went on to Garmin.
Proedge They do, you either use a Pebble watch or Garmin watch depending on the module type of Surf Select you have in your Nautique. The handheld device is garbage . The watches have so many more features to use behind Nautiques then the handheld devices
2 weeks ago, I actually introduced the CEO of Nautique to the head of the Apple Watch team, and Nautique basically said, "no thanks - we need buttons" to which Apple replied "the crown is a multi function button that can control behaviors of an application." Silence after that.

My Pebble works just great and Garmin does too fine with model years after my MY 17 . Screw Apple Watch Ain’t never going to work . Press on with what you got .
