Does any body know if Correct Craft plans on changing the hull for the 196 in 2005? The current design (TSC2?) was introduced in 02. Planning for the future.
TIA

Good luck in finding concrete answers to those types of questions. There are always rumors. CC representatives always say, "we are constantly working on improving our designs". But, historically, CC usuallly holds its hull design for at least 5 years. So, with that, we would not expect a change until 06 or 07. There's been talk about a new design which collapses the 196 and 206--but I'll believe it when I see it. Jeff Warner of CC told me that they have found, with hours and hours of testing, that the 19.6 length is the "best" 3 event platform, period. Nothing works better. So, I'd be surprised to see the SN hull stretched in the near future. And, CC spent alot of time and money developing the 206. So, why would they feel the need to stretch the SN with an open bow? Now, I wouldn't be surprised to see the 206 tweaked a little bit in 2005 or 2006--from what I've heard.
I've also heard from relatively good sources that CC is working on the SAN right now.
I just purchased a 1992 19'6 nautique and have to wait until may to try it (too much snow here in Quebec) but could someone tell me difference of the bow compared to a 2004 model? Hope I bought a good boat.
The 196 hull has changed twice since the manufacture of your boat. It changed in 1997 with the advent of the TSC hull and again in 2002 with the TSC2 hull. The TSC was proclaimed as a fairly significant change. Its still considered one of the best ski boats on the water.
Nothing wrong with your 92 SN. It was and still is a great tow boat--no question. You'll love it.
The R&D team at Correct Craft is nothing short of amazing. These guys are the mad scientists that improve on the already incredible. Having recently spent a week at the factory working, I can tell everyone...NOTHING! Hate to break it to ya guys, but R&D isn't even located at the factory. It exists at an undisclosed location. Any rumors you EVER hear about new boats comming out of CC are just that, rumors. Losts of people thought that the 211 was going to replace the 210, we all know that isn't the case at all. I can say with confidence though that the R&D team always have something on their plate, and I'm sure we will see other new things in 2005.
Ski--I was wondering where you've been for the last couple of days. No changes is a good thing for those of us that just bought a 2003--unless you tell me they are changing the hull on the 206. The resulting envy and eventual purchase would probably cause some marital strife.
Ski, do you have pictures of your boat while being built? I think that's a cool aspect of the MBO site.

I have been very busy lately. I do not have pictures of the boat being built. CC doesn't offer that. If you have questions on the building though, I have been through the factory and know the boats inside and out.
Ski. You mentioned there will not be a change to the 196 in 2005. Are you referring to the hull or all of the components on the boat (dash, gauges, layout, graphics, etc.)? I am looking into purchasing a 2005 when they come out, it would be interesting to know what to expect, if any.
