    New 2002 SANTE owner, questions

    Hello All,
Will the newer tower mounted rear view mirror fit on the 2002 Flight Control Tower?
I've been told the original digital gauages were recalled? Mine are bad and I can't read them any longer. Ive been told it will run me $250 to get them replaced with new analog gauges. Does that seem like a reasonable price?
My ballast guages also seem to be not working correctly. As soon as I start it up, the port and starboard guages go immediately to full. Anybody have this problem?
Lastly, (for tonight) I'm getting quoted about $95/hr for labor. How does that compare?
    Thanks.

The Aluminum Billet tower mount will fit your 2002 SANTE. I have seen one with this mirror mount. Ain't cheap though...

That was a known fault regarding those guages so maybe in view of long term customer relations your local dealer may do you a favor in order to retain your long term business etc ?

Read through this thread, I had the same problem, I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me out replacement guages for free no questions... just a thought start with the simple stuff first, did you open the valve for the ballasts since the last fill?? It needs to be opened to empty tanks as well. They could still have water in them possibly why guages are reading full. Just a thought..

The valves on an '02 should not need to be open for the tanks to empty. I will close my valves to empty if I want to be sure I have no water in the tanks. I would say there is a problem with the sending units if it reads full and there is no water in the tanks. You should be able to pop the rear hatches and check if there is water in the tanks. The sending units might have the floats stuck in an up postition making it think they are full.

Don't trust those gauges, mine do the same crap intermittantly. I trust one thing, when there is water blowing out the vent hole when filling, the tanks are full.

As good practice, we close down the valves after filling the tanks, then they are ready for emptying at any time. You can fill the tanks up by cruising with the valves open even without the pumps on, so I have them closed at all times except when filling ballast.

You may also need to prime the fill pumps occaisionally by giving a little gas, they are below the water line but every once in a while they need a nudge.
