    Factory Delays?

I just found out that my build spot that was supposed to be complete in early April is now pushed out to mid-late May for my 2018 G23.

Are any of you hearing the same thing? This seems like a big jump to me but this is my first time ordering one too. Probably wasn’t going to be able to use before May anyway but thought I’d double check what others are experiencing.

    Thanks,

That’s interesting. Mine came in Monday per plan. Picking it up tomorrow. I never heard they were having any delays. Sorry to hear you got delayed.

I’m wondering if my dealer gave me inaccurate dates to begin with or bumped other builds in front of mine. Either way it’s not cool. I don’t even know how to address it, should I call Nautique direct? Would they even talk to me?

May is a month I could be using the boat and he’s telling me it’s lost now and probably won’t have my build before early June when I was supposed to be in a 4/3 finish date originally with the boat landing about a week later...

I don’t want to sour relations with my dealer because they’ve been great up this point but at the same time this is a major last minute change they’re throwing at me and if the story is bogus then it makes me wonder what other lines they’re feeding me.

It’s really ironic since it’s a G hearing they just invested in another mold to help fulfill orders in a timely manner.

From order date to delivery date, it took four months which is what my dealer told me from the get go. Ordered my G23 in late Aug and arrived the week before Christmas. I know each situation is different but something seems odd. One would assume with the additional mold they would be able to stay on track with production.

The strange part for us as customers to understand is that they assign dealer slots for each boat model and they kind of are what they are and usually don’t shift a whole lot. So when you go to a dealer for a custom order boat they should be able to tell you a spray date for each model they have slotted and that should not change much other than a day here or there. I know at our dealer the 210 and 230 options were spaced out quite a bit so you were at the mercy of what was left, but the G slots were much tighter together but did fill up fast. And once each dealer sells their slots, the factory is standing strong on no additional slots due to volume constraints. So for instance our dealer is pretty much out of custom order slots, so what they will end up having to do is purchase boats from other dealers as holdovers and sell those to their customers here. Kind is silly to me as a customer, but I guess that is how Correct Craft has their business model set up so that’s what we are stuck with.

CCool Did your dealer provide you with the page from Nautique that had the "Gel Coat" date and "Finish" date? Was sent to me as I was allowed to make changes to my order until a week before the "Gel coat" date. If they never showed you that its possible the dealer did a switch-a-roo. I find it unlikely that Nautique would move the boats around unless there was some kind of parts shortage or something.

You could call Nautique and ask for Ron Nace. He is the Director of Customer Service and could answer any questions. Super nice guy.

                  Thanks for all the suggestions!

After talking to Nautique I found out that they are about 25 boats behind right now but they’re working to get caught up.

I’m glad to know that my concerns that my dealer had done a swap-a-roo were not realized. Whew!

On a positive note, they’re gonna keep me in the loop on my build direct from the factory from here out, complete with pics!

Let’s hope they get her to me before Memorial Day!

Oh crap. Mine was due 5/18 which got it to me before memorial day. No one has told me it shifted yet...but it sounds like that's a call I'm about to get.

I talked to my dealer at length today. Not everyone is being impacted the same. According to him, smaller dealers are getting pushed out further than big high volume dealers.

I guess that Nautique somewhat plays favorites in these scenarios so he’s fighting to get me back as close to my original spot as possible because he had 3 get bumped and all three are pretty to’d obviously.

I’d definitely check with your dealer though.

I’m hoping the factory is willing to do something to make up the lost time on the water, especially for those of us that aren’t in Florida where you can ride basically year round. Time will tell...but some free upgrades wouldn’t hurt!

I'm supposed to have delivery in the middle of April. I'm going to check with my smaller Nautique dealer on Monday and see if that date is still firm. I'll let you know what I find out.

I talked to my dealer. It sounds like some of the larger dealers took some build slots and did not really have a buyer. Nautique got involved and it caused slots to get juggled around.

Long story short, it sounds like mine is on track for a may delivery.

Sorry to those that got juggled around...sucks without a doubt.
