The boat industry has only precipitated it. I personally know many young people who would be fantastic wakeboarders but they spend more time honing their surf skills which by all standards is much easier to master. Hence why it's so popular.

But all sports fade at some point and only the hardcore are left. Look at barefooting, kneeboading, foiling etc. Wakeboarding will be as dormant as all those other sports in 10 years.

I don't want to threadjack (probably already did) so feel free to open another thread to continue.

My guess is a new Ski Nautique as well. But my dream would be a new barefoot nautique just cause it would be so **** cool.
Its a combination of the marketing and the lifestyle surfing portrays I think. It's less intimidating than wake boarding but arguably just as hard to master I think. It's easier to sell surfing than it is wake boarding because of the lower impact, plus the level of wake board wake that the new boats are able to create, pretty much any 23' boat at this point is more than 90% of riders can use to its full potential anyway so why focus on the wake board wake whens its already at its peak. Double-ups are all but dead once you slam a G out haha.

Back on track though not sure what this announcement is for sure but keep an eye out the 24' surf boat is coming I got a feeling.

It's a new 200. The new boat will be pulling the Master's in May, so it makes sense to give a sneak peek a month prior. I'd be shocked if it was any other model.

Well, it might be the new 18 200 I have on order but I'm super curious about the new 200R or whatever the designation is. I am hoping that it does not take on the squared lines of Malibu's 3 event boat but I suspect it might. The unconfirmed "30% increase in passenger area in bow" leads me to think it will be. The only way to do that is lose the classic ski boat lines and adopt a squared off nose.

I was told the boat wasn't coming out until later this summer as a 19 but if they are ready at the factory there is no reason to hold back, get some exposure and build sales for next year.

The 24' surf boat is already here....it's called a G23....... Now....if you want a 25 foot surf boat....they make one called the G25 !!! WhyTF would they make a G24....seriously??? Unless they completely re-designed the line for 2020...and went G22...G24....G26....I could MAYBE see that happen....Boston Whaler does it every few years or so. They'll have an Outrage 26 for a few years....then come out with the ALL NEW Outrage 27...which, technically is "ALL NEW".....

Its coming for sure, the G23 has really only had one hull "tweak" since inception. The new boat will be more surf orientated. My guess is this year it'll happen.

But where will they fit it?? Seems from the last few years of reports that the 23 surfs better then the 25......so would they do a 24 totally re-designed or just tweeked to compete with the other heavy hitters? Will be interesting for sure the next few years. I also would like to see a cool 200 Barefoot Nautique show up.

Maybe it’s a Barefoot Nautique with a 550 supercharger. Oh wait.

It’ll replace the G23 I think, might not be a true 24’ more like a 23.5’. Build on what they know from the current hull and revamp it.

The word is they cannot make enough G23's to keep up with demand. And they redid the hull in 2016....can't see them changing it, no reason too.
But it is time for a new Ski Nautique ! 2 different hull configurations, 1 for the super rich and exclusive and 1 for the less fortunate rich people..

I just hope it doesn't have a hammer head bow. The 200 is the only DD ski boat left that still looks like a boat and not a space ship.

Details on the new Ski Nautique are up on the Nautique website. Base price of $105k, for CB only, up almost $30k from 2018 SN. Wow.

Pretty cool new features though and looks very well designed.

$105?!!! Ridiculous, but R&D and sponsorships gotta be paid by consumer. Chiseled is in for this decade, but my fave remains the 196.
