Too early to talk about a 2019 G23? Any expectation?

I was so used to cool feel, that I really noticed this, and really hated it.

so for '19, they should definitely start using advanced vinyls. They are 1000% cooler, a lot more durable, and they breath well, so that you don't get the slimey sweat spots if you sit against it a while.
I believe MC's cool feel vinyl contract ends starting in 2019 model year so I bet we see more manufacturers with it next year.

Takes 5-6mins to fill them till they are spitting out the sides. Add 500lbs of lead and you have 4900lbs of ballast and a kickass wave!

Not knocking the G at all, love those boats too. Fit and finish on interior is great and they kick a nice steep wave. Just saying
Centurion uses the Jabsco ballast puppy and 1" hoses for the plug and play. That setup provides 8-9gpm with reasonably short hoses (best case). That will get you 65-75 lbs per minute from each pump..... so, a 750 takes 10-11 minutes to fill in the best case scenario.... that is the best performance possible from the type of pump they use.

I guess my point, is why bother with all the complexity of the added ramfill system, if you have to rely on a pump system to fill the rest, and have it take 10+ minutes anyway? If you could fill all the ballast with ramfill, it would be pretty great, but you can't.....

in the Ri237 I went in, we had to do a 15-20mph run to fill the ramfill, and then sit there for well over 10 minutes waiting for all the PnP to fill. The boat was absolutely awesome, but I just don't really get the advantage of the ballast setup. I feel like It would be easier and cheaper for them to run bigger hard tanks, and run a dual pump setup rather than ramfill. It would get rid of the 5 added bags, and simplify the system. I'd rather have big hard tanks, with shallower storage compartments, without bags in them.

The usual Ballast pump was rated at 9 GPM, the newer ones are at 12 GPM. This one is simply a rebadged jabsco or johnson: https://www.wakemakers.com/premium-r...last-pump.html In real life, it may not pump that fast, but I do think these pumps stay pretty close to advertised output. I agree that most ballast fill times seem to be exaggerated.

I found this while searching around - 29GPM! It looks like it is an aerator, but I could put up with some changes if I could move water that fast. I have had an aerator setup in another boat and it was fine when set up intelligently. https://www.amazon.com/Jabsco-Marine.../dp/B01N44JCH1

I stop my boat when filling ballast unless I am actually going somewhere. No need to burn up hours on the engine. If your batteries cannot sustain 3 pumps drawing about 15 amps each for 10 minutes, then your batteries are piss poor. To put it in perspective, a moderate stereo can draw 100 amps without cranking it, and that sometimes goes for hours.

You still have your 16, right? Does yours start out normal speed, and then all of a sudden ramps up to a higher speed after a few seconds (I’m assuming all 16s were like mine)? That system is actually pretty awesome. My 16 filled and emptied in less than 8 minutes. I wonder why they didn’t keep that setup for 17 and 18??? The system doesn’t ramp up the pumps on the 17 and 18, and they are much slower than the 16 to fill/empty. (12ish mins)

So Tallredrider, you fill and empty your ballasts when your engine is off? I have done it on occasions but not all the time. Yeah I hate all the engine hours I’m raking up filling the ballast tanks all the time which can run the hours up rather fast .

Yeah I think it was Wayward who said the 16s pumps run faster than the 17s and 18s

I run mine while idling out of no wake zone, and going to our spot.

Why do you guys run your boat while filling? I never do and my batteries hold up just fine.

I run my 3 pumps with engine off, or while idling in no wake. I installed a 3rd battery last year as a precaution for pumps and listening to stereo. If my boat is not moving, engine is turned off, even when switching riders, etc. I have been able to keep my hours much lower doing this.

I will run them more now with the engine off. Prior to this thread, I just assumed it would put too much drain on the 2 batteries

I figure the G power tower is coming also, along with adjusting the angle of the Link screen.

Maybe it's just me but the steering wheel seems to cut part of the screen off. Know a person can lean to the right or even move icons to right side that are used often but to me the screen needs adjusted $.02

I haven't yet. Probably the weekend of the 28th. I want it warm when I do so. Weather has been crazy.
