Takes 5-6mins to fill them till they are spitting out the sides. Add 500lbs of lead and you have 4900lbs of ballast and a kickass wave!
Not knocking the G at all, love those boats too. Fit and finish on interior is great and they kick a nice steep wave. Just saying
I guess my point, is why bother with all the complexity of the added ramfill system, if you have to rely on a pump system to fill the rest, and have it take 10+ minutes anyway? If you could fill all the ballast with ramfill, it would be pretty great, but you can't.....
in the Ri237 I went in, we had to do a 15-20mph run to fill the ramfill, and then sit there for well over 10 minutes waiting for all the PnP to fill. The boat was absolutely awesome, but I just don't really get the advantage of the ballast setup. I feel like It would be easier and cheaper for them to run bigger hard tanks, and run a dual pump setup rather than ramfill. It would get rid of the 5 added bags, and simplify the system. I'd rather have big hard tanks, with shallower storage compartments, without bags in them.

I found this while searching around - 29GPM! It looks like it is an aerator, but I could put up with some changes if I could move water that fast. I have had an aerator setup in another boat and it was fine when set up intelligently. https://www.amazon.com/Jabsco-Marine.../dp/B01N44JCH1
I stop my boat when filling ballast unless I am actually going somewhere. No need to burn up hours on the engine. If your batteries cannot sustain 3 pumps drawing about 15 amps each for 10 minutes, then your batteries are piss poor. To put it in perspective, a moderate stereo can draw 100 amps without cranking it, and that sometimes goes for hours.

I agree that most ballast fill times seem to be exaggerated.

Yeah I think it was Wayward who said the 16s pumps run faster than the 17s and 18s

I run mine while idling out of no wake zone, and going to our spot.

I run my 3 pumps with engine off, or while idling in no wake. I installed a 3rd battery last year as a precaution for pumps and listening to stereo. If my boat is not moving, engine is turned off, even when switching riders, etc. I have been able to keep my hours much lower doing this.

I figure the G power tower is coming also, along with adjusting the angle of the Link screen.
Maybe it's just me but the steering wheel seems to cut part of the screen off. Know a person can lean to the right or even move icons to right side that are used often but to me the screen needs adjusted $.02
