wakesurf on 211 - how to weigh ?

    hi,

tried wakesurfing behind a weighted 211 and couldnt get a clean surf wake between 9mph to 11 mph..

any suggestions on how to get a clean surf wake and what speed ? i have factory ballast, lead bags, and fat sacs on hand...

    thanks for your help,

RE: wakesurf on 211 - how to weigh ?

i ride the port side at anywhere from 8.5 to 9.5 mph

i have the port and starboard balast tanks, i do port 100% full and starboard 30% or so.

hydro gate pulled to wakeboard mode

sometimes tons of weight isnt the best thing to do. putting it in the right place is.

weight in the ski locker seemed to make the 211 seem a little longer. i was able to ride a lot further away from the boat like that.

hope that helps, let us know how it goes

Ihave tried a lot of combinations. Currently, what i find best, albeit a little inconvenient is: locker 400lbs, 250lbs of lead on whichever side the rider is on. And the other part...... I find that fatsacs in the far back do not work nearly as well as this: take a kneeboard bottom up, and place it sort of diagonally across the corner between the back seat and the side seat. Put your fat sac there and fill it. The kneeboard keeps it from rolling off. My wife hates this because it takes up soooo much space, but it really does create a better shaped, higher, cleaner wake, every time. We even get a little teeny tube on the top. I would guess my wake is 3.5 - 4ft depending upon how many passengers crammed on that side.

The storboard side is always cleaner, I prefer to ride heelside on the starboard side. With the starboard tank full, belly full, and 130lbs of golf cart batteries on the starboard side we get a clean 3'+ wall about 8' long to surf up and down at 9.5mph. This was last weekend with a 160lb driver and a 115lb passenger riding on the starboard side.

Getting a clean wake on the port side is much more difficult. Load up the port side as much as possible with ballast and people, as far back as possible (sometimes we sit on the transom even though it's illegal).

If you are running lead in the back you will need to add some speed to compensate, maybe 10.2-10.5? It's harder to ride at the faster speeds too.

I find that running the wakegate anywhere between slalom and #2 helps to clean up the wake.

If you are running lead bars try moving them to the rear starboard locker plus the belly tank, I don't like too much weight.
