Nautique newbie: Is this the right boat for altitude?

New to Nautique and ski boats in general. I'm real close to pulling the trigger on a 2018 GS24. This boat (as well as the 3 others a the dealer) all have the H5 motor. Is this enough power if it will be used at 6,700 ft altitude? I'm also not too familiar with the available options. It appears to be well optioned, not sure if I'm missing anything major?

Awareness Camera
Tower speakers x2
Battery maint system
Cover
Retractable ski pylon
Surf select w/ surf switch
walk thru air dam door

Thanks for the help/advice. Going for a test drive this weekend however it's at a normal altitude.

Well... If you pull the trigger on the GS24 it's likely that you would be the first person on the forum ( maybe first person ever) to actually have one! We've been trying to get some info on that boat. But haven't had much success

An H5 at that altitude in a boat that heavy will certainly need a prop change. The H6 would be a better option. At 5,100 pounds, that's a heavy boat.

I agree with Jeff I would be H6 or bust in a 24' boat.

If it had 2:1 trans you probably be good with a torque prop, those trans are making a pretty big difference on the HP required on some of the larger boats.....but with 1:1:48, I say H6 at that elevation as well

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm taking the H5 for a test drive on Sunday to see how it performs in elevation.

I took the test drive and the H5 wasn't enough in altitude. A little slow out of the hole and topped out at 35 mph with no ballast. I think the H6 would've been perfect. Made the decision to go with the G23.

bummer to hear that. all the dealers around here either have zr4s or H5s in their stock boats.
