Either way, this is a battle you can’t lose. Both boats are great choices.

That said, are you not buying your new boat from a local dealer?? If you aren’t......, I’d be most concerned about that decision. That decision will likely have more impact on your ownership experience than any other detail of these boats.
I had encountered Hydrotunes, but never spoke to them and not familiar with Boat Town. Since the Mastercraft dealer in Oklahoma didn't have any 2020 boats, with the Premium Plus Audio, for me to test, I decided to contact a Mastercraft dealer in Dallas, just to see if they had any. They were the ones who told me they were only ordering the NXT models with standard audio and for anyone who was looking for premium, they had an in-house subcontracted team, specifically designed for high-end audio and were handling the warranty through the dealership. Basically, the way they had it set up, I could get better audio, for no additional cost than if I'd gone with the Premium Plus Audio, or if I wanted to go over and beyond, I could without ever leaving the dealership.

As far as the local Nautique dealers are concerned, it was one who's around two hours away, from my mother's home, who offered the additional $20k to $30k discount. Originally I was speaking with a smaller dealer who's 5 min. away, and I'm still planning to give him an opportunity to come close.... even if he can't match it exactly. Where we live in CO, there are no dealers nearby and since I know most of the dealership owners personally in Oklahoma, I decided to do my shopping there. The smaller dealer really worked with me on this, so I'd prefer to go through him, however, that's not chump change (I'd hate for him to have spent all this time and gas for nothing).

Since they're both associates outside of business, it's an awkward position... one put in the time, effort, and gas to even get me to this point, not to mention saving me from a potential Pavati mistake, whereas the other offered a significantly better price, also not to mention introduced me to Nautique in the first place.

I guess I just assumed you were talking about Boat Town, because that is what they do, and are associated with Hydrotunes. I guess you must have called Texas MasterCraft? I didn’t know that they do anything with stereos now. I stopped in there a few weeks ago, and every X series that I looked at had the premium Klipsch. I didn’t spend a lot of time looking. I’m not from that area. I was just down there visiting my sister who lives in Dallas.

Which dealer are you planning on using for primary warranty work and service?

It was Texas Mastercraft; I'm not clear on the name of the company who runs their audio department, considering they operate under Texas Mastercraft's banner, at least from their location.

As far as getting work done, I'm not sure... I'm planning to keep the boat dry-docked in Oklahoma, however, have the intent of trailering it around, until I either decide to leave it in Oklahoma, drop it in Austin, or take it down to Florida... this is my first "portable boat", so I've got all these ideas, but who knows how it'll turn out in practicality; I may trailer it twice, say forget it and leave it in one place. The dry-dock will be closer to my mother's home, which is near the smaller dealer, however, I'll probably actually use it more in areas near the larger dealer.

It could have been a full moon on that day but I wasn't going to risk that happening again should the need arise. As of late our Nautique dealer has gone through great lengths to ensure our satisfaction in almost every aspect and for that I will continue to remain loyal to the brand. I cannot stress enough the importance of dealer support.
I do have a relationship with the smaller dealer to where he picks up my calls at any given time and I haven't even bought anything yet. If I can get him into the ballpark of the larger dealer, I'll go with him.

Have you received your G23 yet? How are you guys enjoying it? I just upgraded from a 210 to a G23 and it gets here next week. Your write ups were cool to read as we weren’t able to travel to demo any brands before we upgraded. (We live in Alaska and would have to fly...) The Covid-19 outbreak kind of screwed our plans up....
