Which of the 3 has the best wakesurf wave?

    This should be interesting.

I am going to argue that on points 1 and 2 these three boats all throw a wake or wave that is more than enough for the vast, vast majority of people on here. Outside of that everything is about perception of wake characteristics, styling preferences, importance of certain options and opinions/experiences regarding reliability. Basically, subjective measures. You're on a site dedicated to Nautiques. Want to wager what the consensus will be on this subjective stuff?

As a G23 owner and a person who hasn't even seen the new X-star or an M235 in person let alone ride behind one I believe I am uniquely qualified to give you a totally unreliable answer.

      G23
      G23
      G23

      Haha jk.

I think they only person truly qualified to answer this question with no bias would be an expert level rider and surfer who has access to all these boats but IS NOT sponsored by or works for any of the manufacturers. Wonder how many people are out there?

Need to find someone who's friends with Harley or Steel, Chad Sharpe and JD Webb.

The M235 I don’t feel is in the same class as the G or the Star . It’s also not been so well received since its debut.

As far as the Star vs G. The new Star finally lives up to its potential there is no doubt about that. The cramped cockpit ,one trick pony aspect has finally been washed away and it’s back on par with the G wake wise and surf wise. Quite honestly it comes down to asthetics and features of each. The only way to know which one is best for you is to drive them both and make the decision.

Up until this new Star I definitely say it was Nautique's game all day long. Not even close. However the new Star is definitely on par performance wise.

I believe Wayward has or is getting new X-Star and previously owned a G. He might can offer an unbiased opinion on those two if he has had enough time behind the X.

The question is kind of....Yeah, no. Just buy all 3 and you will have a boat for each day of the week.

I am gonna go with the 210. It is the best overall boat ever made considering every factor.

Swatguy pretty much said exactly what I would have said, and is 100% on point.

The main reasons I jumped from the G to the XStar are-
              - I like the surf wave a lot better. I was never a huge fan of the steep and thick G23 wave. I definitely got used to it, and it’s definitely an awesome wave, but I prefer the mellower, and wider shape. I’m primarily skim style. That said, I can’t say one is better than the other. Anyone would be just as likely to prefer the steep/thick wave. Especially surf style riders.

              - it’s updated and has cool new features. Super fast ballast, a lot more stock ballast, advanced vinyls, and some other cool new features (surf transfer ballast tank and some other little things)

Wakeboard wakes are very similar, with the XStar having a slightly longer transition, which is nice, but not needed. It seemed bigger on stock ballast, but only a tiny bit. (And that would make sense when the XStar has 1500lbs more stock ballast).

G series is due for a refresh, and I’m sure they will be doing a major update on it soon.... at which time, it will probably be the top dog again.

as for the M235....... I don’t think the performance can be called into question, but it is priced WAY above the G and XStar. IMO, Malibu also needs to drop Medallion, and switch to Murphy for their touchscreens. It certainly seems that They are still having significantly higher failure rates of screens and their “viper” modules.

True, but given that we are on a nautique forum the bias hasn't really been to bad. If we were on wakeworld everyone would be throwing f bombs at each other.

I would throw the Supra SL into the mix. I just got off the lake test with mine. The wakeboard wake was good but stayed clean down to 17 mph, surf wave was good, not as steep as the g23, but to my surprise you could ski it , not as near well as a g22 but looked not bad. If not the for Sl the g23 would be a solid boat

You learn some new words from wakeworld? I hate to see it go. It was nice to have a non-mfgr slanted site.

Anyone know what happened to it?

New Xstar interior was really disappointing at the boat show. One example: They say "sub floor" ballast in the rear, but the floor is 1.5 feet higher than it should be so there's no storage. I can fit several wakeboards in G rear locker, you'd be hard pressed to get a JR board in the x star.

looks like it is back up and running, the forum is still down, so you may have to watch cool wakeboard videos

I mean..... "there's no storage" is a bit of an exaggeration......

the rear compartments are 26" wide, 60" long, and 18" deep...... IIRC, the G compartments are about 24x60x26, so they are about 2/3 the size of the rear compartments on a G and plenty big enough for dozens of life jackets, an extra cooler, ropes, anchor, etc etc. maybe not quite deep enough to weave a couple boards through the opening, but they can be optioned with storage on the tower for 12 boards. Do you really need more than that? If so, you can fit 3-4 more in the giant pass through storage behind the observer seat..... the coffin storage will also fit a board or two.

Yes they are smaller than the G compartments. But they are still pretty good sized compartments.....
