The ugly boat thread

Sorry if the topic has been covered, but a search did not reveal any thread with this topic.

My boat partner and I got a divorce. It's OK, we are still friends. He ordered his new G23. He is a bit more flamboyant than me and always wanted more color than my boring red. He said, I want people from the other side of the lake to say "Hey, there goes so and so,". Well, he got his wish.


The RASTA boat came in recently. I was horrified when I saw the mockup, but seeing it in person, I was much less dismayed, and I actually think it will grow on me with time.

Will see this boat coming for sure! Not my style of beautiful, not ugly either....but more power to him for being bold. I always think about resale on my boats, or mine would be metallic flake purple, lol. I saw a seriously ugly boat on TMC last night....just a bunch of colors that do not belong together. At least these colors have purpose.

Gotta say it takes balls to order something that "out there" with the associated price tag.

Two questions, Is this a long term purchase for him? Resale would be...interesting.

Yeah, for something I would never consider it looks super good...Tasteful in an odd way, but maybe a black tower would have been better.

He is not on the forum, but he is not offended. We have a very direct relationship, which served our partnership well for 3 years. He also has a good amount of self-awareness, and like I said, he is happy to be recognized. I hope he never breaks any laws, because he is getting nowhere like that!

I think he feels that this is a 'Keeper' boat, so he is hoping to not have to resell it soon. Resale would probably be with a wrap in mind for most people.

That boat is on my lake. The local MC dealer here has sold it at least twice now.

They call it the Skittles boat.
